She put in a good effort, seemed to do well under pressure and was quite motivated, but the bottom line is, she was hard to understand and came off as not very knowledgeable about the game in a lot of cases. It has literally nothing to do with her gender or race. Some people just aren't suited for certain things no matter how much effort they put in or how nice they are. I don't agree with the people blatantly flaming her and being completely immature about the entire thing, obviously it's wrong to do that. But I also think that the reaction of the people trying to defend her is almost just as bad, trying to tell people with calm, sensible opinions that they're wrong for having an opinion just because it's actually negative for once. People are getting attacked in this thread for having a negative opinion about her, by people who seem to be defending her just for the sake of defending. I hope she continues to cast online as she previously was because there's obviously people who enjoy her casting as well, and when there is a choice in what casters to pick from in an environment like the internet then there's no reason to complain. But on a grand stage like GOM where professionalism is striven for, unfortunately there are better casters to hire. I wish her luck in her future work and whatever else she does. | ||

It's the GSL goddamn it, its not that I don't think kelly one day could be a awesome caster if she puts her heart to it, but she should start with some smaller tourneys and contribute to the community for a few years. I mean Artosis and Tasteless basicly gave their heart and lives to startcraft for over a decade now, and I think it will be hard to find someone who can be compared and tolerated as a help for them. | ||

Like how people in England speak fluent English with a British accent, etc. That makes me wonder, would there be this kind of a backlash to a British caster? Australian? New Yorker? | ||

The internet is a shitty place. People act like complete fucks because they can get away with it. Starcraft 1 community was great because we all loved something that very few people did...we all GOT IT. We understood what we loved was a beautiful thing...and didn't bitch about everything. Starcraft 2 has made this game very very popular...and with popularity comes the internet. People on the internet are complete fucks which in turn make anything that is popular have a community of fucks. Screw you internet...another reason to hate you on a daily basis. So glad all of my hobbies have to revolve around this cess pool. | ||
