For the past few months IdrA only had the korean ladder to practice on. Occasionally he practices with Ret but ret has his own decdicated practice schedule with team liquid and oGs.

Idra haven't got where he is at just by laddering

I did, he says that Idra got is where he is at skill-wise only by laddering although Idra been playing sc2 since the beta -ignoring his past sc:bw experience
experience accumulates over time that is my point -his overall play wasn't shaped just by a couple of months

IdrA's interviews are always the best, hands down. He says what he thinks straight up, haters be damned.

His comments about how every mechanic seems to be based around getting stuff out faster is so true. I wonder how much of a solution taking them all out would be. Would definitely lead to a radically different style of play for zerg, if nothing else, what with needing a lot more hatches.

idras comment on game design was very interesting

Woah I just listened to that part.

Considering Blizzard takes that route to balance by improving early game scouting, it would not only resolve somewhat of the issue of one base plays by making them less effective if you are good enough to scout properly, but it would leave them still viable if the other player doesnt play properly(i.e. scout it).

Alright, let me clarify, I meant to say that unlike essentially every other player in the GSL, IdrA managed to maintain a very high skill level with essentially only playing the Korean ladder for the DURATION of his GSL TIME (with occasional Ret practice and probably Artosis as cited in his interviews).

Great interview ! I really agree with what idra said about scouting. I would love to see overlord speed dropped to hatch tech , what a great change that would be.

So? Every other pro and a good percentage of the TL population has been playing since beta. Why is IdrA so good if he's doing the same thing that a lot of people are doing?

IdrA's kept up with the code S players by just laddering. Keep in mind that his opponents have a equally skilled practice partners as well as a steady practice schedule.

Great interview. I like his response to the question on getting cheesed. And his thoughts on game design.

Thanks for sharing!

Idra hasn't had any teammates to practice with in sc2. He has basically only practiced by laddering. I don't see what's hard to understand.

Once again IdrA's interview cuts to the heart of SC2. The comment about aggressiveness being amped up, but scouting remaining the same is something so obvious (but I didn't think of it in those terms).
