i doubt that. incontrol has expressed his opinion of husky in the best, although indirectly

If u were Korean and just not quite able to make it into Code A, why not give it a shot over here?

But my guess is because its NASL (NORTH AMERICAN starcraft league) it will be for the us/canada/mexico only.

I hope not. Europeans and Koreans competing in NASL will make it a lot more interesting than just North Americans.

On a side note, anyone know if they will charge money for NASL? (sorry if it was mentioned before). I don't mind for the GSL but I'm too used to watching free streams of foreign tournaments.

Seriously? We don't even know anything about it. But if all these rumors are true, they will more than likely charge for at least a premium stream. I would hope they would charge for both streams, however.

This suggestion in combination with MLG's statement about going global. What if this was only one facet of the whole picture.

NASL - North American Starcraft League
SASL - South American Starcraft League
EUSL - European Starcraft League
PASL - Pacific Asian Starcraft League

Winners and high ranking players in those primaries are brought to or earn the right to compete in the:

WCSL - World Championship Starcraft League.

Perhaps a point system in in place so even if you don't play a certain tournament but accumulate enough points in your respective region you could still be called upon to compete in WCSL. Just a thought. This is probably not the case as it would be far too grand too soon after the games release but perhaps a future endeavor hoping all goes well.

I'll grant that Husky is pretty terrible, but I still like HD. I think he needs to work on getting more involved with the community (follow the tournament scene, watch other people's casts to learn more about the players, etc) but if he could do that, I think he would be an excellent caster. He does a great job of hying up the game and the excitement, and we need more of that if eSports is going to catch on.

I hope that if this NASL comes to light like this post is saying, people will put aside their personal opinions and do what is best for eSports

husky would be a good commentator because of the fanbase he'd bring.

i mean, i know he sucks but making SC2 popular is about making spectating appealing to casuals.

i would not watch if husky casted. i think many people who are decent at the game wouldn't watch either because huisky does not bring the personality nor the knowledge needed for casting high level players

Please for the love of god stop talking about husky/hd.... every damn thread gets derailed into Husky vs Day9 or something of the likes. /// I for one would love to get more details on this new league, but it looks like ill have to wait

It's like Husky is a cancer that spreads everywhere. Everywhere you go someone just has to bring him up and then the shitstorm starts.
Can't you guys just ignore people you don't like? Seriously.

All I know is, I have my car and wife packed and I am ready to go wherever in california this is...

And if I find out Day9 isn't casting, I have picket signs ready to go as well.

Not a fair trade off imo. I'd rather see quality commentating over shitty commentating+extra viewer's..

I really do wonder if the west can ever truley catch up with Korea, even with a big money tournament.

The big advantage I see the Koreans having is team houses that are already established which encourage a lot of training and sharing of ideas between players. All the Liquid guys improved leaps and bounds after moving to the ogs-tl house and while a new tournament may encourage players to train hard, without team houses, koreans will IMO continue to get further ahead.

I know eg plan on opening a house, but what about all the smaller teams? Over in KR all the teams have houses

In the prior thread about speculating about this wasn't it mentioned that Day9 met with people at Intel for an unknown reason or something like that? Possible sponsors?
