They aren't if you check the link in the original post you will see that there is indeed a teamliquid standing in 9th place due to point distribution. If say Ret, Jinro and Huk make it in Code A/ Code S they will still be short in points to be able to pass the Slayers team for 8th spot. But they don't really have all the players needed to be able to play since you need a 8 player roster. And Teamliquid has like 8 players in total.

Warnings: TSL: 2 IM: 1 fOu: 1 But the star players of most teams didn't play every round of course.

What I'm saying is, it's hard pressed to come up with a list of player that can challenge these guys.

I've seen Jinro speak very highly of Bomber for instance, and I'm sure there are others who can be competitive at that level. Bo1 format also leaves it a bit more open to shock results, I don't think it'll be as straightforward as it might look.

the format of a team event seems very fun to me anyone know how often a teams lead player has gotten a hot streak and gone X wins and 0 losses?

I understand there are players out there that can surprise everyone, those are rare cases. It'd be even more rare to have two of those players on a team. Also I believe that best Bo1 is more head games than say Bo3 because as (perceived) stronger player will have more confidence to start with. I believe that's a good thing for the stronger player unless he underestimates too much. Though Jinro speaks highly of Bomber, he also spoke highly of the likes of MC and MKP before. Lastly old MvP =/= new MvP just like old Jinro =/= new Jinro
