Would you rather he start BMing and trolling instead? Since using insults is obviously a much better way to further the discussion = /.Being 'aggressive' (i.e confrontational) is obviously not the issue here, making posts that are either complete spam or unnecessarily filled with insults are. Doesn't change the fact that you pump out mediocre songs that are seriously lacking in creativity, rhythm, or just plain catchyness This has nothing to do with the rest of the argument --- but if critiquing his musical talent is what your going for, then maybe You should make something better no? Seeing as how his efforts are so terrible. First off, it's begging and it's annoying - no matter who does it. If people feel like doing it, they will. There's a reason ads are paid. Do you really think I give a rat's ass whether or not some youtube videos or whatnot are his only source of income? That ship has sailed, it's a choice he undertook and he has to live with its consequences, never mind if the content in question is worth a dime or not. Second, trolling and being passive aggressive aren't the only two options. He went on a tangent to bash idra(which I don't give a flying fuck about anyway), disregarding any previous claims without constructing a proper response. FIY that's just what trolling is all about. Third, nice fallacy, which is completely irrelevant to the argument at hand. In my opinion his content is trashy, his commentary is sub-par at best and yet some people act like this guy should be idolatrized and any criticism leveled against him is to be ignored as he "brought alot of exposure to SC2". I reckon that's their prerogative, but don't expect everyone to feel the same way you do or that people that do not approve of his content should forever be silent.

Don't get me wrong, I do realize there has to be some way to cater the masses (I can see that despite my open elitism). My opinion is that after you've spent so much time and effort to get somewhere (and eventually made it), you should set some quality standards for yourself. Like, you could actually learn a thing or two about how the game is played to provide better / more insightful commentary. I know, I know - not everyone is born with talent this way, and Husky certainly "doesn't need to" improve - the numbers speak for themselves, don't they? I just think of this as a matter of self-respect, but I guess our views differ on this. And as a matter of fact, I don't think this only applies to Husky. I'm sure we can all agree on that even the best casters can benefit from a constant effort of improvement on their work.

But in all seriousness, I only bought SC2 because of Husky. If it wasn't for his commentary providing a great introduction to the game, I wouldn't be following all the major tournaments, watching Day9, reading teamliquid.net, etc. I personally really like his videos. Maybe not so much the song parodies, though they're kinda fun, but his commentary is fun and sometimes hilarious, and he uploads some great SC2 matches. So hats off to him for that, I say.

I think this video is better than the banelings one. This song was different and the lyrics were good. Husky does what he likes and he has always done that. To get money doing that, I don't see why he should put money in front of community. Keep up the good work Husky!

It seems like you are just acting disappointed because he made 2 videos you don't like. I don't see what the big deal here is.

Of course it is embarrassing and painful for everyone when people try to idolize others but I really don't see people doing that. If you don't approve of his content then just don't watch it. I don't go rant about Justin Bieber just because I don't like his music. It's not like he's doing anything harmful or immoral so if you don't like it, ignore it.First off, it's begging and it's annoying - no matter who does it. If people feel like doing it, they will. Perhaps the other SCV is not feeling the love and just wants to do his job. God, Thor rushes with a ring repairing SCVs will be soul-crushing more a whole new reason.

Kinda shortsighted though considering Husky is bringing in so many new people to the Starcraft community, which will result in more viewers and bigger prize-pools for the US/EU tournaments. Something that is likely to benefit Idra. So really Idra ought to get down on his knees and show Husky some appreciation.

nah but it's like important like the role husky does for like bringing starcraft and stuff to the community and promoting e-sports and like, yeah with husky it would just be like he does so much for us and stuff like, yeah but i felt like, with my expert opinion, that this song didnt capture the true essence of starcraft 2, i feel like husky is like going in the wrong direction and stuff, he like needs to take his responsibility as a starcraft 2 person more seriously
