It may be demoralizing but its true, and he gave a lot of insight on ZvP so the balance talk really did not bother me, and it shouldn't bother you either unless you believe it to be true yourself.

Would you rather stick your head in the sand? I always appreciate IdrA's candid opinions. Thanks for sharing Bitter, great stuff.

I really try to avoid balance talks... Granted some of it came up last night, but it was faaaaar from being even a tertiary focus on the show.

Like him or not, the insights Idra offers are tremendous. The depth of his knowledge is really pretty fascinating, and having him on at all is a privilege.

Mr. Bitter, I remember you was talking with Sheth and he said how risky is to expand first on ZvZ on scrap. And I am wondering how can I punish fast expanding zerg, I think you didn't ask him that. Because each time I go 14/14 and he goes FE, he just goes roaches, so I can't be agressive and I am at a disadvantage.

Actually ret FE's with 15 hatch 15 pool on scrap. And he won against a 14 ext /14 sp sling/bling MorroW at this weekend.

You can find awesome replays of Ret vs Morrow in sc2rep.net or sc2rep.com.

14 pool is a bit late. If you go 13 pool it is a bit harder for the FE zerg

ty so much for providing this opportunity for the zerg community mr bitter, especially the Idra sessions.

as for Idra's balance comments, I can see where he's coming from.

He played what was in many ways a perfect game, albeit a very safe game, and had no advantage or way to pull ahead. I feel like Idra wants to be able to win without doing some sort of backstab drop moves or risky play, just with perfect macro.

In some ways it really does make a statement about the state of zvp because he did play a near perfect macro game and still couldn't overcome the protoss, despite being bases up.
I think it might mean that you truly cant win by just playing safe once the skill level gets high enough.

looking forward to tonight

Idra said himself that drops and backstab plays is how Z supposed to be played in theory. However in reality drops are terrible against protoss. Its just too hard to deal enough damage, well placed canons and warp can nullify any small/medium zerg drop force, not to mention that P always have an option to herp a derp a move counter your base because you are splitting your forces and his deathball will absolutely roll over your weakened army.

And if you are going for a massive drop its almost a all-in everytime, even with speed upgrade overlords are goddamn slow and get picked off very easily

Personally i would love to see the whole zerg drop stuff buffed either by lowering the cost of the upgrade/faster research time and faster overlord movespeed. Its really underused now and not because ppl are lazy to do it but because its super expensive and almost never pays off

Wow you know watching that live I wondered how he deflected that blue flame helion aggression so easily, after watching the demo it really looked like the +1 carapace made the difference.
