I'd set something like 50. 100 is already generous.

I really hope that Blizzard changes there minds and ups the number of people allowed in each chat window, perhaps they will allow the creation of official or special authorized channels that will have moderators and be allowed to have more then 100 people. That way sites like TL can have a channel where everyone can talk but at the same time there can be the smaller private channels people make with there friends that dont need to be able to accommodate 100 people or have moderators.

I know this is not the best system but it seems to me like it would be the closest thing to a compromise for this situation. I know ideally there would be no limit you ca set passwords and the creator can assign moderatos. Until Blizzard is willing to allow this to happen i like some kind of special chat channel should be made.

It'd be nice if there was an official sticky to say how chat channels are organized and such. I think it's a good idea. The 100 user limit wouldn't be a big deal if we were all in the section we were interested in (strategy, general, looking for group).

Either way it's high time we finally got these. Should make tournament organizers very happy. =)

make sure you have a tlpickup channel in there, i know there is practice blah blah but a place to just go grab a quick pickup game for the sake of a pickup game is always good.

I have to agree with Krigwin here. The SC2 playing population, even just on TL, is immense. At the very least, at any time of day it will dwarf the mere 200 person capacity that 2 channels alone would provide. I feel that anyone at any time should be able to join a channel and have fun with other like-minded players, and an excess of channels is more likely to accomplish that than a small selection of them. Also, if the excess is too large, and it turns out that several channels become like ghost towns because no one visits them, those channels will fade away organically and won't really detract from the prosperity of more popular channels.

I still don't see why they cap at 100 =( Would much rather sort through all the spam then to not be able to get in a main channel with everyone.

And so far there is no moderation on channels.. ugh.. I hope the whole chat system will be reworked.
