What are you talking about "empty friends list" it's always crowded... of.. people...... playing WoW.

Tried all of the suggested channels and nobody is in them.
We should definately get a Mod to sticky this thread so we can get all of these different channels saturated.

channel teamliquid is always full, I think this is a little too complicated, should just be TeamLiquid#1-100 etc etc. Maybe with a Koth channel.
things like strategy and coaching should be found in the forums where it is a little bit more organized and there are mods...

Feel free to add "Open Tech Support" as a channel. We have a bunch of tech support people who can offer in game help.

Well teamliquid has been full every time I've tried, and TLGeneral has been hovering around 95-100. Since it doesn't look like it automatically creates new instances for full channels, it looks like we'll have to do stuff like creating "teamliquid1", "teamliquid2", etc.

The first post was posted back in December. Everyone in the chat channels are massing teamliquid channel like cow games in diablo. So it's teamliquid, then teamliquid2 for now. teamliquid is full consisting of 100 people, teamliquid2 is near full around 70-80, guess after that it will be teamliquid3?

Yeah - maybe some form of standardization is needed but without any avenue of moderation i doubt things will be well ordered for very long.. Maybe i should have more faith in the community hehe.

So far this channel structure works out but is going to fill soon. Hope blizzard maybe adds the option to join a different sub-channel within a single channel. (Like General Chat)

Whenever I've been on, TLGeneral has been full, along with teamliquid, teamliquid2, and half of teamliquid3. I tried teamliquid1 too, but nobody was there :O

I need to bump this.
The only way this could work is if the mods helped publicized this idea.
We can either have TeamLiquid(1), TeamLiquid2, TeamLiquid3, etc.
or we could have TLGeneral, TLGeneral2, TLStrategy, TL Strategy2, etc.
100 people cannot represent TL, but if we can all agree on using 1 chat channel, and then progressing onwards numerically when the previous channel is full, we can always be with 99 other TL members.

I hope these channels start getting used. It's one way to go about the 100 people limit. Categorizing what you want to talk about will filter out not only people who have a common purpose.
For those thinking that this is too complex (Chill), I think that most things might seem this way before you get used to it. Just like hotkeys are a second nature to most of us, I'm sure if we start using these/they become official they will be just as familiar.

Mods should sticky a thread with all the official channels and perhaps have a liquipedia page about it and do a liquipedia weekly on it?

I like the different channel ideas. More people need to find out about them so they become somewhat standard.

So far, I'm loving the lists we have and they're being very productive in their use ^.^
I'm all for adding specifics for 2s, 3s, and 4s though.
