Hopefully Blizzard will optimize the chat channels after release, with important features like being mod powers, password-protected chat rooms, and limit increases.

The TeamLiquid1, TeamLiquid2, etc is a bad idea, as it'll be harder to get what you want than in chat rooms designed for specific things.

I would be shocked if they didn't add passwords and moderation before the release.

We were shocked when the game launched with no chat channels.

no passwords eh... well there should be because you do not want chaos in the chat channels such as "random" people joining in and trolling the channel with spam/junk

That's partly why I think until moderation is possible, channels for liquidians are the best option because I trust most of the people here to be mature.

I was not aware that the limit for each chat room is 100 people. Does anyone know of any particular reason why the limit was set at 100? Also an inability to set passwords for channels seems like a bit of an annoyance.

I'm assuming it is because if too many people are active at the same time the conversation becomes too flooded and is impossible to read. The flow is too fast and there are too many conversations going on at the same time.

I'm the guy who created "obs" and "koth" and how these spawned was simply that there were too many conversations going on in the TL channel, so basically I just said "ok anyone that wants to obs go to channel obs" etc.

I think that more structure would really be helpful.

PS: For those TL'ers that I may have played against, I go by "Far" on battle.net
Perspective is merely an angle.

Yea even being limited to 100 people the chats are going to be hard to follow. Perhaps dividing the practice channel by rating or points would be helpful, but obviously only if it has alot of traffic to begin with. I know finding practice partners on the fly is what I'm looking forward to most from this. And I really hope they add some form of moderation or passwords. I fear the trolling may ruin this asset.

I like the idea of TLTvP, TLZvP etc, would really help me out, and keep the more generic channels like TLPractice a little less crowded.

How about a TLSkillBuilder channel? It would essentially be a place where lesser skilled players who are looking to improve would play against higher skilled players that are in the mood for a win.

I don't know about you, but even if I was a Bronze League player I'd automatically go to TLmaster.

Isnt it worth it to ask Blizzard if they are willing to increase the chat channel capacity for Teamliquids official channels, if the channel stays at max capacity i'd think they would fix it if they care about the community
