Free Lessons
For those of you that are interested I am going to be restarting up my stream. I'm feeling better, but I don't want to take on too much too quickly so I'm revamping how I will be doing my stream. As far as my stream I am going to be doing free 1 hour lessons throughout the week starting tonight at 10pm Eastern. They should continue at that same time every night, though I reserve the right to cancel a night or move the time. First come first serve so show up at my stream if your interested. Post any questions you have for me here or message me online Zergman code 880. My stream is at ustream.tv/channel/zergman
Adopt A Noob Web Site Currently I'm in the process of having a web page made for me so the process will flow much better for my stream and will have an "adopt a noob" section with added searching functionality. It should be way better than the current system.

I accidentally put as my character code 925 it's 425. Sorry :D

I just found this thread and it's such a great thing coming from the community! I'm looking forward to seeing your stream as well zergman

silver NA server Tempest (#668) Zerg
I would really appreciate it if a high ranked zerg or something would help me improve my game. My macro feels in place, but I need work on my timings, cheese/all-in response, and micro.
|
Signed up as a noob. Haven't played in six months, I'm super rusty and don't know enough about current game strategy I'm willing to give back and mentor once I'm back up to speed.
|
Hey Zergman, I just wanted to thank you again for taking your own time to coach me last night! It was super helpful and really got me pointed in the right direction. I'll be hanging around your stream if I remember to check it on time

Whoever wants help with the terran race can contact me at subterfuge.249
Masters player, willing to be a practice partner. I signed up cause i had some free time lying around but only one person contacted me.
|
I AM willing to help any new player. I can teach any race, and just want to help because i think helping other people actually improves how i think about the game as well. I can get your mechanics up to at least a platinum level (not very high i know) and give you suggestion on hotkeys (based on what pro players for that race use and what I use), etc. Getting to diamond is mainly about mechanics and macro anyway so I think this could be very beneficial.
You SHOULD have a skype. I would be interested in playing with you on the weekends for the most part.

Hey, first post here, I actually made an account just to post on this thread because I love this Idea so much However I have a couple questions regarding this that were not made abundantly clear to me...
First off, OP mentioned free lessons. Now, are all the mentors in this Adopt-A-Noob program doing the lessons for free, or are those only Zergman's lessons?
Also, OP says the best way to find peeps is to meet them in-game in the Adopt a Noob program channel. However, I have been unable to figure out exactly how to find this channel... Could someone please explain how one would go about joining this channel, from the main menu screen in SC2?? That would be super helpful. Hoping to find a great mentor through this. I've already signed up as Shalinar.540 on the spreadsheet, i was high bronze in season 1 but I feel like i could be silver now, I've been drilling a lot lately in custom games (haven't done my 1 placement match thing to figure out where I am in season 2 yet). Regardless of my ladder position, I am a low level player with a decent grasp on the game and a good understanding of the mechanics (as in, Im not a total noob, I just haven't had a lot of time to devote to laddering). I am extremely open to learning new things and am very dedicated to trying what I'm told. I want to get better and am willing to do what it takes If there's someone willing to mentor me on the ways of the zerg swarm, I'd be totally willing to be mentored.

All lessons in this program are free regardless of the mentor. I suppose someone out there might try to charge, but that wasn't the purpose of the program.
As far as joining the channel at the bottom right corner of your screen is your friends list, next to this is an icon you can click on and it will bring up the chat channels option. You just type in the name The Adopt A Noob Program and click to joing channel. If you did it right there should be 5-20 guys depending on the time of day.
I'm starting to get tired of waiting on people to build me a site so I may just hire some company to do it cuz I think that would be a lot easier for everyone.
