Seriously though, I don't understand people like some_pro. It's like...98% of the gaming community is either "omg girl. ur hot. boobs?" or "attention whores! gtfo!!" I just can't grasp why people can't be like those of us who just don't really care. Do I treat female players different or special? No. I didn't in DAOC, didn't in WoW, and I won't start in SC2 or any other game in the future. It's like a crazy circle that I wish would go die somewhere... Guys are like HOLY SHIT GIRLS. pics! or they go down the attention whore / slut. ---> girls don't like to play games or be a part of the community ---> Little to no females around, but one shows up somewhere ----> Start over. Then we get issues like the whole female clan thread and it's just never going to end until people start growing up. I guess that's the center of the issue. lol. Easier said than done, I suppose. Your looks and your skill level has to be sized up and discarded someway. I understand that some think it's exciting when a girl enters, and that's fine. But please, don't make these silly excuses if she outplays you. She only plays the game because of the attention. If she's better than you she probably got boosted because she's a girl. If she's better than you she's played more. If she's better than you she probably plays terran, lol. If she's better than you, you point out she's not high diamond, so she still sucks. And if all else fails you can always say she's ugly. Sorry for my little rant, it's a pet peeve of mine. Props to guys that treat girls like they would any other. | ||

Anyway I think more female gamers would be a good thing, especially if they are good looking. Don't get me wrong, I don't care how they look, but as we can tell from this board alone, a lot of people do, so with attractive female gamers people would find out that this isn't something only fat, ugly nerds do. Still amazing we have this stereotype as about 6 video games are sold every second, how can people still say that people that play games live in basements, are obese, have acne and are incredibly rude. | ||

Many years ago, I once got banned from a Counterstrike server, because "girls can't be that good." *headsmack* And that's just one example. This thread in itself is why all the girls lurking on this forum will take precautions to not "out herself". gw, guys. Props to the mods laying the smack down - it shows TL is dedicated to making us feel welcome and not a novelty and just like everybody else. S'why I love it here. | ||
