So just wondering, what physical characteristic of a woman justifies having a separate woman's league for starcraft? Or is there none really?

Well judging from history, the best female BW progamer (Tossgirl) failed miserably to even compete with the men. So maybe that's why they have different leagues. If you're a girl, and you can't beat Tossgirl, and if Tossgirl has only won like twice against pro gamer guys in the history of Korean BW, then all we'd see is a massacre.

As one, I can tell you that a female league would make girls feel more comfortable playing, knowing there's community support around what they do. It's not physical differences, just being able to play in a comfortable environment with people like yourself.

None of this HURR HURR TITS OR GTFO OMG BET UR FUGLY ROFLROFLROFL junk.

Also, it's good PR for females who may be interested in playing but are scared off by forum-posters and BM, you know?

Anyway, I think an international female team would be boss.

Ah, to be a woman on the internet.

Good interview. The interviewer is a total baller, good flow and questions.

so this girl, who is still in school, plays starcraft tournaments, participates in bmx tournaments, and is going on germany's next top model? If she was a fictional character, she would be the definition of a mary sue.

I get she being hot and everything, but I do not understand the significance of why she is being interviewed? like if she wasn't hot, why would he be interviewing her?

It is speculated that females are better al multitasking.

So female gamers would potentially be better than us at Sc2 ?

I do remember Tossgirl in BW was good but not enough to make out against most of the top players.

Most sources said she played 12 hours a day like all the others. She said it in a few interviews as well. May or may not be true of course.

I was going to mention that in my post too but decided not to. Yeah, it's true females probably spend more time on their social lives too than progamer guys or whatever.

So, if you're not going to practice to be the best among humans, than you have no chance in hell of joining a unisex league if you're a girl. Because all we would see are guys.

lol she did beat Effort.

Do you think she could do it consistently?
I can kill the world's best Modern Warfare player too if I played him enough times to land a lucky random grenade kill. But the end result would probably look something like 1-100.

For example, a reason there is a woman's basketball league might be because women have a different mean height than men.

I don't actually know anything about basketball, is it even an advantage to be taller?

I don't think it's motivated by anything physical. I imagine women feel more comfortable competing in a womens league as opposed to a "unisex" league which is 99% male. As time goes on, and competitive female gaming becomes more popular, I can very much see these two merging as there really isn't anything that gives either gender an advantage... although they do say women are more efficient at multitasking.

well theres still tons of progamers that rnt successful in sc1. just because tossgirl happen to not be as talented as the progamers we see doesnt mean its because shes female :p

Every competitive sport (read: game) is dominated by men. There are clearly reasons that go deeper than physical characteristics that cause womens' leagues to erupt. (most likely social reasons rather than something biological but maybe both (as in, biologically women are less competitive, if that was proven there you go, not claiming anything)

BTW: How the hell does she manage her time so well. Goddamn; BMX, Fencing, Gaming and good school grades. Wish I was that organized by a quarter.
edit: oh she's not in university yet? still impressive.
