this rule is just stupid. we want the 50 best players and thats it. thats not a freaking team league.

I can understand Tyler's point of view, but Russ' point of view is very catered towards their goals about the league which is to spread e-sports throughout the west.

I think for their 'grandeur' view of esports growing it's sometimes more important for that '6th player' on the a team to make a sacrifice.

There is no black or white here, but I initially sided with Tyler, but after hearing Russ out, I gotta go with NASL's decision for 5 players max. For the sake of the 'bigger picture', I think this way is more beneficial for everyone.

I don't know, I kind of have to side with Russ/Inc here. It is good for the health of league to have more diversity in teams. It sucks that people could be left out but with the time issue and collusion problems I think they have to stick to their guns on this one.

Koreans teams have A teamers and B teamers, why can't foreign teams have that?

Here's the deal though, I really dout Jinro is going to leave his s class position in Korea so they'd be fine anyway

Doesnt change anything about collusion with the team limit. Any player who is at the bottom and has nothing to lose can still "throw games away" So many players are friends with each other.

In any case tyler makes very very very strong arguments. I dislike the team limit as well.

A player of Jinro's caliber is very capable of winning the entire thing. He can play on the NA server during group stages and just fly to Cali when the playoffs happen. With a 1st place prize of $100,000, TL will DEFINITELY send him if he makes it to the playoffs.

Ya I also agree with Tyler. I don't want to see random players from some no name team over... let's say Ddoro because Root has 5 other solid players. It seems like some teams may even consider somehow splitting up their team to allow more to play.

Edit:

Here's the deal though, you are talking about one specific case. Saying "Team Liquid will be fine" doesn't mean all the other teams will. Even if they are, there are many possibilities for this to become a problem in the future.

sorry, it's retarded.

you'll see people drop off of major teams and join 'other" teams that are brand new or just a front for players that were left out...

agree with tyler, you just won't have the best 50 players if there's players on liquid etc that will have to sit out

There is a prize pool of 100,000 for the entire first tournament not for first place.

yeah if tl does something like team geasous it's hilarious because it's just another brand but for real the same team...
in the end the players will play for themselves because they want to win the money.

How is 5 divisions of 10 different than 10 divisions of 5 players so long as you play the same number of games? The best players should play period. As Tyler said the 5 player restriction may hinder new talents from going to top teams because it would stop them from being able to play in the largest prize pool tournament in NA, that isn't a point you can ignore or hope it works itself out.

Jinro is in the playoffs with a very high chance of winning (pretty much arguably the best foreigner Terran on the plant). You're telling me that even if the 1st place prize is $20,000, TL would not fly him to Cali to play in a tournament which he has a 50% chance to win $10,000 + ?? First place prize is at least $40,000 for NASL (assuming if prize pool is $100,000).

The problem is risk, Root can't get an amazing sponsorship so it's risky to think that there will be 10 well sponsored teams. Obviously if it works out that'd be sweet, proleague in US.

From a spectators perspective it doesn't matter but from a players perspective that's playing 9 games compared to 4. And they want the players to play that many games.

InControl is a joke. He should not be one of the players leading the NASL. He needs to stop being a jerk to everyone.
