It would be more than enough to piss off the producers, I guarantee. Everyone knows that nobody is a perfect little angel from conception to adulthood, and that most people have embarrassing stories that they wouldn't want to admit to in front of a camera, but when it comes to Americans, suburban middle-class soccer-mom housewives (aka, the biggest consumers on the planet) are especially stupid in regards to the reasons they stop spending their money on things. Things that scare away consumers will lose you sponsors, and nothing scares away consumers like deviant sex stories. Its hard to become a household name with stuff like this reaching the public- and a household name is EXACTLY what we want Day[9] to become, as he is the furthest along in the venture, and the most likely to succeed. I'm not saying that anything should be "off limits". I'm just saying that we shouldn't be shouting it to the masses at the top of our lungs and bringing extra attention to it that may potentially slow our progress- especially in this delicate stage of the process (starting to draw the attention of bigger and bigger sponsors). If people are gonna try to dig up this stuff, then let em work for it instead of it being at the top of the google search for "Day[9]" (exaggeration, most likely. I didn't actually google Day[9] to check how far down the list these stories will be) You seriously need to chill, dude.

However, when people are trying to hide his past by brushing it under the rug, then it's a big freaking problem. It's not like people held a gun to his head and forced him to share his sexual adventures. He voluntary posted his "masturbation in the airplane bathroom stall" story on TL.net on his own cognizance. He may become the face of SC2 (highly debatable), but he still needs to face the consequences. Being a "public figure" in e-sports doesn't mean his past is off limits, especially on anything he posted himself. Do you notice the mods deleting references to his past sexual adventures? No, they are not. It goes to show that what we post yesterday, today, and tomorrow will be held accountable, open to public consumption, and forever be connected to the individual. That's ridiculous. What does Day9's past have anything to do with being a public figure. It's not like Day9 is running for public office, he's just a freaking SC2 caster. His story was obviously meant to be humorous at the time and he didn't anticipate that in the future, there would be thousands of people going back to read it. As someone who is trying to work with sponsors and tournament organizers to expand e-sports, he needs to be taken seriously and professionally. An old tasteless joke doesn't help, even if it was only meant for humor.

You might want to read the exchange first before you make any declarations. It would be nice if Day9 is taken seriously and professionally. I doubt sponsors and tournament organizers will be to bothered by his sexual escapades. Though, when people try to bury Day9's past, it only makes people curious, eager, and interested to know the truth. I see what you did there with the "old 'tasteless' joke" comment ![]()

If Code A winners made $10k, what would stop MC/MVP from deliberately getting into Code A to win the tournament over and over? It's certainly a more reliable source of good money. Well, as long as they make sure the difference between a full season of pay for being code S isn't much lower than the code A finals prize, i don't see the problem. (though i guess that's exactly the problem, can't imagine they get paid a lot for being code S) On February 03 2011 01:05 hackmed wrote: Day9 mention in a later post that he uses that story in his standup routine, theres no way that story is real. Or that's what he wants you to believe. :p
