I've listened to State of the Game for a while now. And I used to look forward to it every week. What this episode revealed to me was that I was listening to it because of how great the discussion was between Day9, Tyler, and Artosis. I don't find InControl's Schtick funny and I don't know what makes him relevant anymore.
I'm done with this podcast. It was great while it lasted. But what made it great is gone now.

That's a really weird opinion, except for the Incontrol part. If you're interested in constructive discussions, then you're well served with Tod, Apollo and especially qxc. From a personality side you might miss Tyler and Artosis though.

Anyways, it was communicated for half a year that contracts had to be signed, qxc and the others would be only on the air for one show, so it would be cool if we could have some information on how things turned out now. Being open towards the audience has always been one of JPs strengths, but recently it has become somewhat confusing on what's going on, even when the shows with Tod,qxc, darkforce, etc. were running.

Long sections of the "drunk" episode felt too forced.. If I could have Nony + the new guys such as Tod/qxc/Apollo/Wolf/DarkForce/Major take turns (I don't think Nony would like to be on every week, but perhaps once or twice a month?) with other community figures such as Artosis and Day[9] and Incontrol making the occasional appearance (although I'm one of the many who've become really bored of Incontrol, hearing from him every now and then won't be bad), I'll be very happy with SotG.

But most of all I'd be extremely happy if there is some page where I can check if there's an upcoming show and when. I don't expect a strict schedule (once a week/once a month, doesn't matter), I just want to be able to go there and see "Next episode in 2 weeks" or "No idea when next episode will be". I totally hate it when I open this thread or the blog or twitter and see "Next episode coming up on ..." and then I realise it's an episode I've already listened to.

But I guess I'm an entitled brat to want sophisticated feature like this without paying for it...

SOTG has served as my sc2 news and editorial for a long time now. Its frustrating the episodes these days are few and far between. I miss the old cast quite a bit, but I was not at all unhappy with QXC, Tod, and apollo. Been legal complications going on for the better part of a year now... I hope to see SOTG be a regular thing again.

JP McDaniel ‏@itmeJP

I should do a LoL sotg style show. And buy some flame retardant gear

JP McDaniel ‏@itmeJP

@SotLTravis afraid of competition? Haha maybe we should trade scenes since we both let our shows die in 2011

Please bring us more regular State of the Game episodes JP!! I miss it!

I'm not tired of Geoff at all. The guy is entertaining. Not sure why people are complaining about him. Can't get enough Nony either, and I love QXC when he's on.

I dont wana sound as i personally attack JP because that is not my intention but i could not notice the biggest fall from grace is the e-sports community of recent years. In a few months (i would say less then half a year) this guy goes from host of the biggest podcast in SC2 (and probably e-sports) , an MLG employee and an authority in the Starcraft 2 scene to ... now . Shit happens and there is no denning that the scene suffered overall but that cant explain all of this . But how it all got here ? Well it's complicated... JP and Incontrol ware announcing that they had found a sponsor for the show that will pay them to advertise itself , this repeated a few times with periods the show was down "to restructure to this goal" .In the end nothing happened and ultimately some core members (feel like i m talking about Beetles) decided to step down , first was Day(9) who i feel was a bit mistreated by JP which was a bit funny as Day9 introduced JP to the Sc2 scene and when JP first started SOTG his main star and attraction was Day9 before the rise of Incontroll . So first of the "dream" team to part ways was Day9 ,i feel somewhat marginalized by Incontrol and to a lesser extent JP. I feel Incontrol hated D9 for some reason and always bashed him a bit in normally friendly discussions. But hey , you cant pin that on Incontrol as he "hated" alote of people , especially before he understood you cant treat everyone as shit and say you are joking (remember the first controversial episodes) when Incontroll created his first dedicated anti fans , or haters as some people call them.

Well to make the story a bit shorter people that ware part of the show decided to stop , first Day9 then i think it was Nony(not sure) and Artosis culminating with Incontrol deciding to not participate any more.

And ofc seeing that SOTG waned i imagine and maybe from other reasons MGL decided to let go of JP . Tbh i suspect (my own flowed opinion) Sundance seeing the popularity of SOTG and the hold it had on the scene decided to try to stick the MLG brand over but it never worked , i would say that a good thing.

What followed was JP attempts to re-engineer SOTG with another cast but surprisingly (or maybe not for people that know the scene more intimately as a mear viewer as me) he could not hold a cast together , Apollo after a few appearances decided to get out and the show and brand went from bad to worst. Surprisingly is that JP's other show(Real Talk) when dry , almost like no one wanted to attend anymore. It s almost like people smelled a sunking ship and scrambled to get out. (it s funny how we perceive weakness sometimes, like a disease , like it s contagious)

Again i dont wana sound as bashing JP but i was baffled how things went in a short time , i noticed now he streams LoL and hope he can get to the point he wants there , who knows ,maybe LoL will become bigger then SC ever was.

So I took the time to read your post... for some reason. And I wouldn't worry about hurting anyone's feelings. Because anyone with common sense isn't going to take you serious in the slightest.

At first I was woundering, just how you get to know all these personal feelings and details of all these people involved. Then I relaised this is the internet. You don't need to have facts or real information to pretend you know what your talking about lol.

Also so fuck if he plays LoL. He also played Darksiders 2 at some point.

Good job sir, you made me laugh, one Golden tinfoil hat to you!

Too bad the broadcast is rather late for us europeans, still wonderful to see this show returning, be it tonight or on the VOD's.

Incontrol & Idra left after day9 iirc, due to EG's policy of only one talk show per player, with both Incontrol and Idra choosing a different one (Inside the game?)
