Don't do it JP.
There are a lot worse things that are said/happen on this show than getting drunk. Adult show is adult.
Edit: Furthermore, for a show that can run until 2am or later EST what kids are staying up that late? The show starts at 11:30PM EST. Thats late late night talk show time.

I agree with Whitewing. It's no different than a television show. If you let your child watch Californication than you're an idiot. Although that being said I think kids can be much more mature than their age suggests. I remember watching south park and various other shows unsuitable for pre-teens and I didn't become a jew-hating, alcoholic.

Don't do it JP. If you know for a fact that SotG has a lot of younger listeners, perhaps you should be talking to said younger listeners or ideally their guardians about why YOU think they should not be listening to the show, and letting them make their own damn minds up.
Sick of people who try to take control of other peoples lives simply because of their own sense of what's right, or their holier than thou "moral obligations".
It's for parents/guardians to decide what content is consumed by their child, not the general public.
(How is getting drunk on a podcast irresponsible alcohol consumption anyway? Drinking in your own home, with friends is the most responsible place to drink after all... The time of day is a non-issue.)

If you think drunk people talking about a video game is what's going to influence someone to drink, you are retarded. There's too much other shit out there to complain about this, it's more than fine. It's actually called "having fun"

Rethink the drunk cast?! Are you kidding me?! I'm already a little sad that the show isn't as inappropriate as it was before Geoff for some reason had some sort of self-image-realization and the show became part of MLG.
DO NOT TAKE AWAY OUR ONE TIME OF THE YEAR DRUNK SHOW AS WELL!
You should just go ask The News who send their show in prime time on television on channels available to everyone to make a show about flowers and puppies instead.
Silly goose.

40,000 concurrent. Make it happen. Awesome! It's gonna be strange to watch Day[9] play starcraft, he's been hiding himself forever. You can see him play during subscriber's monobattles but I suppose this is going to be a little more serious More serious? While being drunk? While playing on a team with his biggest BW rival (artosis)? I wouldn't be surprised if he just does some silly strategy. If Day9 worker rushes in those games he will be RUINING ESPORTS much more than Naniwa has ever done.

People who occasionally get drunk are objectively cooler than those who don't, so if you don't want your child to grow up a pussy, make them listen to SotG.

You can remove everything else but this and you'll most likely end up hospitalized tonight anyway. "Every time Day[9] says the word 'like'. - One shot. (one per sentence, suggested in another thread)"
Oh, as someone already said in the comments. "I've done the math and with these variables the value of profit will be equal or greater than death."

Don't do it JP. State of the Game has never tried to be a "kid-friendly" podcast. I'm surprised that you would jump on the concept of a drunk podcast when the crew regularly makes sexual jokes, nationalist jokes ("No one cares about Europeans" as a running gag) and many other non-PC/unsafe remarks that put forth an equally "completely wrong message." Granted, I do not presume about your moral standards, so it would be your prerogative to clarify your position on these other issues. Nevertheless, if SotG holds such sway over the minds of its younger viewers, where do you draw the line? Should Geoff be less confrontational and aggressive when debating a point, lest the children get the wrong idea of how to handle an argument? Won't they become more aggressive because he serves as a role model to them? I see no sense in hiding certain aspects of human behavior and community on the basis of poorly placed fears of negative influence on apparently vulnerable demographics. If a January 2011 poll on TL is anything to go by, the overwhelming majority of SCII fans who are hardcore enough to know about TL (and by extension a podcast like SotG) are >15 years old (~96%), and the plurality are in their early 20's. These are not particularly vulnerable demographics by any means; I would bet that most of them have had a drink or five by this point and have the cognitive capacity to understand and the simple awareness of the concept and significance of responsible consumption. On another point, upon what grounds do you assert that "Artosis getting drunk at 10 in the morning is not an acceptable behavior" besides your own subjective standard of when it is alright to partake in alcohol consumption? What makes it any different than drinking at 6 PM, especially when he is in the privacy of his own home and has taken responsibility for his actions and their implications? I see no harm in the crew drinking themselves silly once a year. Were they getting wasted every podcast, there might be cause for legitimate concern, but more so for their health than for their action's impact on the impressionable. Crying wolf seems without merit in this context. Looking forward to the broadcast tonight, hoping against hopes that it hits 40k!
Wow… that was really thought out and well said. Nice arguement and delivery.
Anyway, my first State of the Game ever was episode 24, last year's drunken cast. I was instantly hooked on it. I'm not one to drink to excess (or drink at all for that matter), but I thought that cast was hilarious! I like how SotG is geared more towards the older audience. It's essentially a late night radio show… but in podcast form. Now, we'll see how this year's show goes. I hope it's better than last year's, but sometimes things can go wrong with too much alcohol… High hopes though ;D
