Just to be clear, I'm talking about Europeans watching vods who can't catch the episodes live (99 %). For me it's like this: Vod released day after SOTG: 90 % probability of me watching. Vod released 2 days after SOTG: 80 % probability of me watching. Vod released 4 days after SOTG: 50 % probability of me watching. Vod released after next SOTG: 5 % probability of me watching. I think reasons for this are pretty obvious and were already mentioned in this thread. stop making up random numbers. the validity of those numbers is just as valid as your argument

When he used to run the show off of Blip.tv they have an internal feature (similar to what Twitch.tv does) whereby any live streams are automatically encoded and uploaded onto their servers. The difference between that and the MLG system I would guess, is that JP hands over a raw output file from the stream (probably ridiculously big in file size given how long the show runs for and it's in HD) which is then encoded into a suitable format for their web player. There's probably also a certain degree of actual editing/post-production they do to improve it further. Then finally they have to upload it onto the MLG servers which is when we get to see it. This is just how I would imagine the process is, having worked doing basic video editing/production before (though nowhere near the level of what MLG produces). But the thing is, both the ridiculous raw size and post-production can be mitigated by a more streamlined pipeline, since SotG is exclusively used for the web player.

I know it's not being delayed on purpose and please don't take my frustration as anything other than impatience to watch the show that I love, but get the fucking VOD out already! If it's up the following morning (your time) that's acceptable for most people (annoying for me, but I'm in Australia so I actually live in the future), but a couple of days later is WAAAAAAAAAAAAY too long. I've just about given up on watching the VOD and I've gotta say that the MP3 on it's own doesn't do the show justice (if nothing else we miss out on inControl's zoom-in face ![]() Really missing the show guys. Don't take this as criticism, but people REALLY want these VODs to come out quicker.

He's just saying that the longer it takes for the VODs to be released the less likely he is to watch it. The same counts for a lot of people I think.

He is talking about the probability of him even watching the show depending on how late it is released. He is not making up numbers, he is talking about himself. The point is, what he is saying will be true of a lot of people. I know for myself, the later the availability of the show, the less interesting it will be because it will be out of date. Everything that was discussed in the show will have been discussed elsewhere if it takes more than 3-4 days for it to be released. I find it telling that through MLG, a supposedly larger and more 'professional' (capitalistic) entity than JP alone, it has always been problems with getting the show released. Whereas with JP alone it was almost always out on time. That's what happens when you have to run it through profitable channels.

Please more strategy talk I'm nearly only interested in that part of the show instead of the following: "Tournament X went that way. What did you think of it?" - Didnt watch/ Winner played good "Tournament X is coming up" - Random bracket-prediction with little to no explanation.

This way with forcing everyone to comment on each group of each tournament is ruining esports.
