If you missed it last night in the Gosucoaching weekly tournament this happened

Just about killed JP and myself trying to cast it, completely amazing hilarious stuff and for the haters:

yes it deserves it's own thread. I mean Huk seems to have actually practiced this build and refined it somewhat pretty crazy how his timings were like perfect got 400/400 right when he got 100 energy on the nexus great foreplanning with the mass recall.

So the lesson is: Mothership wat? Will we see more?

edit: HD soon still processing

... im definately the one who pioneered mid-game cannon rushing, and then huk i guess watches my replays and does the same with a recalled probe? FFFFUUUU... anyways lol, looks fun to try.

Just did it in ladder and won. Sure I suck (I'm nowhere near great nor was my opponent) but it worked! This was PvP too. I'm totally doing this in every match-up now, it's too much fun!

Edit: MASSIVE BRAINWAVE. Instead of pumping out nonstop gateway units, I'm going to start getting Void Rays in the mix. Have them charge up on my Nexus (not 10 of them like Huk or I'll lose) and recall them in with the gateway mix at full charge.

Edit 2: Now I'm really glad we have Motherships instead of Arbiters. Imagine having more than one of those capable or recalling Void Rays or Immortals to raze a base. And keep an extra at home to recall you back if you need it.

OTHER MASSIVE BRAINWAVE

Is it possible to get 2 recalls on 2 different motherships and recall to enemy main base and recall back home. Just jumping from spot to spot recalling

Here's HuK's first mothership rush on Desert Oasis that I casted earlier.

Raelcun doesn't explain it that well but before the game I jokingly said 'hey, mothership rush him!' and HuK laughed and I didn't think he would do it................ but he did.

Limit of 1 Mothership. Otherwise that would be totally imbalanced. I still find the Mothership to be a far better defensive unit than an offensive one, but this rush is too great!

1) YOu didnt make cannons
2) You didn't tell your opponent is was coming
3) You didnt bitch about how slow the thing was
4) all before winning anyway

clearly yours was worse

That was awesome, but the most awesome part was the timing. Everything lined out almost perfectly.

dammit, i hate when people use the mothership successfully. Why? because i want it to be taken out of the game and replaced by a different flying caster like the arbiter. But if it keeps being used like this then there's little chance of that happening

awesome play though

It think it's more likely he just missed it because he didn't expect it was coming. Or he expected it and thought he count counter it with what he had. I saw Trump earlier today scout with a hellion when a zerg had gone fast lair, but Trump saw it as a hatchery and lost to mutas. It happens that players just don't notice quite obvious things.

This isn't the first time its been done. I can't remember who it was playing Artosis but he lost to it as well. But without a doubt the mid game was amazing with the sentry force fields on the ramp as well as recalling a probe for pylon and the forge to be bm haha

that was sooo baller. "nothing suspicious going on here" could become as famous as "really useful talent toi have".

really a pity this wasnt in the icarus cup before which had a price for the pimpest play, would have won that prize without a doubt.

1) YOu didnt make cannons
2) You didn't tell your opponent is was coming
3) You didnt bitch about how slow the thing was
4) all before winning anyway

clearly yours was worse

edit: [/sarcasm]

No worries, KHB. You will always be remembered as the first epic motherf..rusher.

Boxer never used motherships... and @KHB.. I would say your mothership was pure win, but then again you're on my xfire and you are always on WoW T.T

That game was freaking sweet. Anyone who incorporates a mother ship into strategy is pure win.

NERDgasm

Limit of 1 Mothership. Otherwise that would be totally imbalanced. I still find the Mothership to be a far better defensive unit than an offensive one, but this rush is too great!

I don't think it would be TOTALLY imbalanced. I mean in SC1 BW you could recall arbiters but then again the recall radius was smaller. But then again it wasn't game breaking. Funny comments from huk though ahah made my day (:

Would not be imba at all, Brood War had Arbiters and they weren't limited to one. They could even nerf the health and stuff a bit, but I really think P should be able to make more than one, at 400/400 it's not like anyone can mass them too much, and even if they did Motherships in their current state are really easy to deal with.

If you're gonna keep idra's typo, you gotta keep HuK's typo.

Since nobody else seemed to notice: he misspelled suspicious.

I used to dislike HuKs play (getting caught in the "LOLOL ONLY 4GATE", after actually seeing more of his games I seem to enjoy his attitude more than anyone's. Not a lot of folks could pull this off, too awesome.

lol just tried this rush strat in 2v2, both me and my parter were able to mass up big ground armies and i tried to mass recall our combined armies into their base (after all it is MASS recall right? wrong... mass recall only works on your own units *sniff*.

Hope there isn't an incoming nerf. That mothership was sexy.

Casting could have been a little louder though
