hahahah this is soo fail!! damnit blizzard! you are just making it worse for yourself with not having lan!
Reason why sc/bw did so well was because of pro scene took it to a new level. Without support for tournaments (pro standards with no lag) the game won't really get that far.

I can hear the Korean commentators now..... "LAAAAAAAAAAAAGUUUUUU!"

I have to say that is pretty hilarious... We knew it was going to happen though.

damn how imcompetent can greed make you

lol no lan is ruining the madfrog vs tarson and idra vs sarens matches
I sure wish there was lan
|
ya that sucked it happened between idra and sarens I was watching. I was like well this is great...
|
Maybe they actually take notice because of this but it was thaaaat bad. The games still could be finished
|
I can't believe blizzard are so late getting lan sorted, it really hurts their image when they still have lag problems in huge tournaments :/
|
I think the bigger concerns of pros, like Idra and White Ra pointed out is not just that there needs to be LAN for no lag and these sorts of situations where lag ruins the game's rythm (there was significant lag in the Idra vs Sarens game in the Intel Extreme Masters and had to be paused for 15 minutes till everything was fine and dandy), but both players also stated LAN should be available for practice so that their micro skills are up to speed. Playing on internet connections 24/7 and then playing on LAN really hampers your potential for micro.
I really think that Blizzard should have made LAN available and it wouldn't have taken much to prevent (or greatly reduce) the chance of piracy if that is their main concern. However since they have made such strides very recently (I am of course talking about the $ 85,000 SC2 tournament and pro leagues) this issue will be fixed in due time.
Sooner or later. Hopefully sooner.

Happened in IdrA vs. SarenS as well...
|
Laughable... You would think Blizzard (like the rest of us) could see this coming a million miles away. So, option one: Blizzard is quite stupid not to have thought of it (I really doubt it). option two: It is Blizzard's intention never to patch lan mode. (Due to risk of it getting hacked etc... I guess)

this is the best thing that could have happened to the whole "No LAN" situation
hope it happens in MLG and GSL so Blizzard is forced to do something about it
|
Relax guys.. the game's only been out for a few weeks...

Either LAN-Mode or some kind of Tournament server where the Runners of the tourney geht accounts for their gamers which isn´t overrun by every gamer in EU.

Either that, or SC2 gets kicked to the sidewalk and LAN support shows up when people just don't care anymore That's what I'm afraid of to be honest.

Hey Pardo, I think pros REALLY want LAN, unless you're lying about your e-sports aspirations then put it in.
EDIT: Has somebody made a bnet thread about this, and posted pics along with tourney prize pools? Do it! (don't have the game yet)

i think they will ad lan support in full version :<

I think they will have it fixed by GSL
