I'm pleased that they put all the client installers and different languages for all the regions (EU, US, etc.) already online for download, since Im gonna use it to play with the English EU client, like I hoped, while my retail box I'll get in the mail, will only have the german verison.

Seems like a lot of work and hard drive space. You can't just download a language pack from your battle.net account page if you speak another language? You get english and spanish packs here in n america.

I pre-ordered a copy @ ToysRUs for $55 US including tax. I'm not sure if they will ship it to me ON the 27th or BY the 27th, so I'm still contemplating whether I should cancel my pre-order and simply use the digital version method. :\

The time thing is so they don't piss of retailers, just hitting buy at 12 am 00 online, 1 quick patch, and play, right from the comfort of your house would seriously hurt their sales.

![]() I haven't really seen a solid answer on this after skimming through a few pages: If you pre-install the digital version, and then activate it with a store-bought key, can you play before 1:00pm? Has Blizzard even elaborated on this yet?

Has Blizzard even elaborated on this yet? Yes, you can do that. It even hints at this in the FAQ. ** I clicked SKIP instead of ACTIVATE – is that bad? That’s OK, just click this link and log in. Meaning if you skipped step 3 (purchase) than you log into your bnet account to enter your cd-key or purchase the game digitally...

My brother lives in mexico but i want to get him the us client (i live in canada) so if i buy him the boxed version, i just need to give him the cd key, then he registers it at bnet and then download the client as well from bnet and thats it? or do i still need to send him the whole box? Pretty sure you just need to give him the cd-key then he could dl from battle.net.

Obviously, if I had known about this site I wouldn't have even ordered a hard box. At that time there wasn't even a hint for digital licensed game. I searched Blizzard stores, internet, nothing.

Just to be sure: If I get a boxed version, can I use the cd key from the box for the digital download? Meaning I could DL the digital and I'll be good to go the 27th at 10am? Thanks!

In the MPQ file you can find this string which means the installer is used with both the digital version and the CD version. IntroDiscussion1 Thanks for installing StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty! IntroDiscussion2 Before playing, you must register your StarCraft II product key with a Battle.net account. The activation process is quick and can be completed while the game is installing. IntroDiscussion3 If you purchased StarCraft II as a digital download through Battle.net or the Blizzard Store, or if you've already registered your product key, you can skip this step.

I don't think so. I believe I read on Bnet forums that you have to make a clean install to play the retail version and that the Beta version will not work.
