EPT- A new sc2 map (any proper map will do)
- Not having the Novice maps downloaded (who plays on them anyway?)
- A friend or friends who do the same exact steps as these...
First find a novice map that matches the setup you're trying to make, for example Novice Desert Oasis is a 1v1 2 player map, perfect for Chupung Ryeong which is the same map setup for this. The next thing you want to do is download that map and create a game with everyone in it. Now you want to find the map in your cache folder, this shouldn't be hard as you just downloaded it so it should show up as the most recent item (sort by date modified).
Alternatively the file is found in C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Local\Blizzard Entertainment\Battle.net\Cache\93\f8 for me, this may be different for some people though. You just gotta go after the most recent folder.
Now go find the map you just downloaded. It should look something like this: 93f89e32aad64d9d305f78d9339d1421b6d1e41b9a57ab4c9051722084b7241f.s2ma
Copy the map you downloaded to that folder and replace the Blizzard map with the one you want to use. Make sure you change the file extensions too since maps saved with the editor have a different extension.
After everyone has replaced the maps click to start game, if you did this successfully your background for the loading screen should be different depending on what the new map has designated as its loading screen, it will probably have all the players and a black screen though.
Once you're in game everything should run smoothly. Watching the replay of this is a little bit trickier and requires the use of something I shouldn't be talking about on this forum, so I won't mention how. If you want to play on the map again you have to essentially repeat replacing the map once you've created the game because Blizzard will automatically re-download the map if it doesn't match their copy online.
TLDR:
Download a new sc2 blizzard map and a map you want to play.
Create a new game with your friend or computer, w/e.
Have everyone playing replace the Blizzard map with the one you want to play.
Start game, glhfgg.
