i pre-ordered my copy from EB on monday (first chance i've had since it got announced) apparently they have sold over 90% of their pre-release SC2:CE stock... i doubt this will happen =(

Yeah I called they said it's a key for public beta, a beta that is going to be given to the public apparently o_O... They also said call again tomorrow cause that's when they'll get some. So does that mean there's going to be two servers for SC2?

I just called ebgames and they said they would give me a beta key if I pre-order the game at the store for 5$. Awsome.

I'm going tomorrow :-)

I just called a GameStop in the United States and the guy told me only selected GameStop stores are getting the Starcraft 2 beta keys. So I would give them a call and ask.

OK so I live in the U.S. but I just called a Canadian EB to ask. The nice lady said that if you physically go to a Canadian EB games and pre-order a SC2 game you can get a beta key. She said she wasn't sure how it worked if you pre-order online. I'm gonna check right now.

I called the EB Games at Spadina and Queen in Toronto. They said the rumour is true, but that they only have 10 keys, and that they already have more pre-orders than keys. He suggested I call up more isolated stores because they might have more keys than orders. Dunno if this information is correct, doesn't seem to go along with what others have heard. I tried calling the Sherway Gardens EB, and they thought I was making it up. I'll try some more soon.

I just talked to 3 of my local GS's and one of them said that if I gave them my email and info they would email me a key if i preorderded. Typically though, these employees are clueless.

Awesome I was going to make this post, but couldn't because of the 3 day limit on generating threads for new accounts. Yeah I pre-ordered the collector's edition and got a call today to come pick up my beta key. In addition the game spot staffer I dealt with pulled my key from a pretty fat grip of them so looks they got sent a lot of keys.
