a.) they often charge 2-3 bucks less than retail price (i.e $56.99 instead of $59.99) b.) no tax (so you've saved 6-7 bucks already if you include 'a.)' c.) awesome preorder deals, especially for big games (im getting $30 in e-giftcards after preordering FFXIII and BFBC2) d.) the free shipping is fast (2-3 days, they also offer release date delivery) there really isn't any reason to go to gamestop unless they are running a special deal.

I live in Germany, but I want to buy an English version for SC2. What page do you prefer for pre-ordering the game? It would be nice if it's going to arrive at the release day ^^

US online sales charge you sales tax if the company has a major location (any location?) in your state. Anyway, I'm just going to the store and buying it the day of release. Got a best buy ~1 minute down the road. I doubt they'll sell out and it saves all the hassle of hoping for delivery on time, campus mail to sort through and deliver it, etc.

Dunno if they will allow early downloading or something yea that would be cool if they do what Steam does somtimes.. Allowing you to install the game a few days early but not able to play the game until release day.

GameStop's preorder bonuses aren't too bad all the time since you do get something cool. Some games offer retarded things. For example, if you preorder Battlefield: Bad Company 2, you will get some perks early on (perks that you can still unlock later on, but if you want it now, you preorder) and an early weapon.

They ship pre-orders a day before release and sometimes from within Germany so that's probably the fastest way to get the uk version.

As far as I remember Amazon lost a court case regarding sales tax in NY: + Show Spoiler + Items Shipped to New York State Effective June 1, 2008, Amazon.com LLC will begin collecting sales tax on items shipped to destinations within the State of New York as New York has enacted a new law requiring out-of-state sellers to collect and remit sales tax based on advertising. Amazon has filed a lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of this provision. However, as required by the law, we must still begin collecting New York sales tax beginning on that date.

DLing the (guessing) 6-8GB client on my 50/10 connection will takes less time then driving to the store, plus no putting a piece of plastic in a dusty ass drive I use like once a year. The Dvd drive reading at slow ass speeds, while the DL client running directly on my SSD will install 30x faster. Digital Downloads all the way, faster for those with broadband and better for the environment.

At Blizzcon, Rob Pardo said something about giving brick and mortar shops an exclusive window, like 28 days or so. After which it will be available on the Blizzard online store.
