Amazon is by far the best place to games these days.

a.) they often charge 2-3 bucks less than retail price (i.e $56.99 instead of $59.99)
b.) no tax (so you've saved 6-7 bucks already if you include 'a.)'
c.) awesome preorder deals, especially for big games (im getting $30 in e-giftcards after preordering FFXIII and BFBC2)
d.) the free shipping is fast (2-3 days, they also offer release date delivery)

there really isn't any reason to go to gamestop unless they are running a special deal.

If they sell it at the bliz store it might be the fastest way. Dunno if they will allow early downloading or something

I buy most of my games in digital form these days even tho it isn't even cheaper (actually it is usually a little more expensive usually when buying new games). So Blizz store might be your best choice, that way you are at least guaranteed to get the game.

I don't get 'no tax' from amazon... I'm guessing since I'm in NY State. Not sure about other states. Also, sometimes their free shipping is fast, and sometimes it isn't. I find them hit or miss.

I've got a question, too:

I live in Germany, but I want to buy an English version for SC2. What page do you prefer for pre-ordering the game? It would be nice if it's going to arrive at the release day ^^

US online sales charge you sales tax if the company has a major location (any location?) in your state.

Anyway, I'm just going to the store and buying it the day of release. Got a best buy ~1 minute down the road. I doubt they'll sell out and it saves all the hassle of hoping for delivery on time, campus mail to sort through and deliver it, etc.

I'll get a hard copy for sure, probably via pre-order on Amazon, it's what I did for D2, D2 LoD, WC3, TFT and some other non-bLizzard games

yea that would be cool if they do what Steam does somtimes.. Allowing you to install the game a few days early but not able to play the game until release day.

lol

gamestop will sell it at retail price (FINE) and it will have a midnight launch (earliest you can get the game legally)

gamestop is best option imo.

I don't see how GameStop rips people off since they sale their games at retail price. The only thing that is a rip off is their trade in method since they give little for buying your games, which is understandable since they are a business. I don't even sell my games at GameStop since I'll get barely anything, so I just put an ad up on Craigslist.

GameStop's preorder bonuses aren't too bad all the time since you do get something cool. Some games offer retarded things. For example, if you preorder Battlefield: Bad Company 2, you will get some perks early on (perks that you can still unlock later on, but if you want it now, you preorder) and an early weapon.

Try amazon.co.uk. They ship pre-orders a day before release and sometimes from within Germany so that's probably the fastest way to get the uk version.

Buy online at the Blizzard store, get your key instantly, make sure you don't get your B.net account banned because you'll lose all your games forever

I don't think you can... at least it wouldn't make sense to me. When SC2 is retail released you'll pay and download then. Why would you want to pay them beforehand?

Probably g2play.net since they'll have it up cheaply compared to the rest of europe or blizzard that charges 50€ instead of 50$

The best way to support blizzard is to download the digital copy directly from them, the day it comes out. The best way to save a few bucks and get a hardcopy is to order through Amazon because they are the most reliable. I'll be doing the digital version, to give Blizz the most money possible.

Not sure that response was necessary. As far as I remember Amazon lost a court case regarding sales tax in NY:
+ Show Spoiler +
Items Shipped to New York State
Effective June 1, 2008, Amazon.com LLC will begin collecting sales tax on items shipped to destinations within the State of New York as New York has enacted a new law requiring out-of-state sellers to collect and remit sales tax based on advertising. Amazon has filed a lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of this provision. However, as required by the law, we must still begin collecting New York sales tax beginning on that date.

I remember reading somewhere on the blizzard site or was it statement at blizzcon, dont remember which. That they were gonna give there "partner stores" a exclusivity release window. Which seems ass backwards now a days.

DLing the (guessing) 6-8GB client on my 50/10 connection will takes less time then driving to the store, plus no putting a piece of plastic in a dusty ass drive I use like once a year. The Dvd drive reading at slow ass speeds, while the DL client running directly on my SSD will install 30x faster. Digital Downloads all the way, faster for those with broadband and better for the environment.

Wow, that was rather unneccessary.

I'll be preordering at Gamestop cause it's right down the road.

At Blizzcon, Rob Pardo said something about giving brick and mortar shops an exclusive window, like 28 days or so. After which it will be available on the Blizzard online store.

try Newegg.com. They sometimes will knock a few dollars off and New York does not have tax from Newegg. They also may have free 3 day shipping
