Thousands of people send replays in.
You're not a special snowflake, and even if your replay is 100 times more awesome, chances are it won't even be seen because he can't possibly watch all of them.
The point of Funday Monday is to have fun, not to be internet famous.

cool, gotta try some FFA today, seems like I could macro mass-carriers+mothership peacefully ~~
|
my name starts with B, so when I play FFA, I usually just fly away as soon as the game starts and hide somewhere. screws people over
|
So basicly for everyone who is close in the start (like me) we will have the ability to just wall in without problem since they need to come to us anyway. mass spines everywhere!.

Ok, but what does "kill a player" exactly mean?? Make him quit the game? So, what if some other player kills someone? Does it count? It counts only if it matches the order?? And why is it forbidden to engage in a fight with a player that doesn't match the order? As long as I don't "kill" him, it should be fine. Please, clarify...
|
I think kill a player means knock him out of the game. If players get knocked out out of order by other people it's probably fine, but you can only attack players in alphabetical order.
|
We can only hope that ALLEN sends in a replay of his victory.

Well yeah.. I agree, but I thought this last episode sucked quite abit.. So not much of a funday :/ The first game was quite enjoyable, it was wierd.. sentry, senry, bcs. But the second was a normal 3on3 without any variation in it except for the reapers... and that was a long boring game. Third and lastly, decent i guess.. but not anywhere near epic.. I'm not sure about the quality of the sent in replays, but I guess it's alot of crap. But there are soo much win in some other replays that i've seen posted by others on sites like gamereplays.com. Day9 should get some people that volonteers (shouldn't be too hard, i'd love to do it..) that can highlight replays to day9 so he is not alone watching thousands of replay.

Really with the volume of replays he is getting you almost need a separate replay categories/site or something in which people can review/upvote replays or something to make them pop-out a bit more.

I think people need to consider the fact that he spent all weekend in NY for IEM and probably did not have as much time to screen the thousands of submissions to find the very best replays.
Try to relax and remember he does this for free, five nights a week, and probably spends upwards of 25-30 hours total on this cast for us every week.
People are so quick to tear something down rather than help in building it up. We as a community can support him in many small ways, one of which is not shitting all over him if we feel that one particular daily doesnt "live up" to whatever expectations we might have had.
I do think he will need to expand to include some assistants in his structure at some point but perhaps he wants to maintain the hands-on feel so he can ensure quality control!
Keep up the great work Day9.

I feel bad about this new funday monday, I can just see someone name AArdvark who is just some bronze guy who likes to FFA and yet doesn't watch Day9. And he calmly goes onto the FFA and gets gangbanged and knocked out. then goes and joins another FFA and gets totally stomped and is like.. What did I do?
|
I never play FFA but with my name beginning with V, im going to play one now!

Seems like a good idea. Wonder what day 9 thinks about it.

Keep up the great work Day9. Yeah, it's kind of the same situation you run into in chat where people are mad that Day9 doesn't check anything but Chat #1 for questions. People need to realize that even in the main chat, there are 1500 people all asking questions, he only answers like 3-4 per show, there are thousands of other people whose questions aren't getting answered, it doesn't really make any sense for Day9 to bother checking the other channels. It's unrealistic to think that he is going to be able to read and respond to the "best" questions in that cluster.
It's all about loving and enjoying the game, and I think it's important that everyone remembers that. Did you have fun attempting Funday Monday and sending your submission in? I know I did and I did it for over 9 hours last Friday night (26 games). It was awesome.

Probably as the week goes on, low alphabet people will be driven away from FFA. By Thursday, L will be the new A. By next Monday, we'll see FFAs of only people with names like Xerox, Yittrium, Zoophobia and Waldo.
I'm gonna screw it all up by doing the exact opposite of the Funday Monday theme - Funday anti-Monday. No queens? OK, how about queens only, creep up the whole map? Build only one unit? No, instead, I'll build EVERY unit before attacking. Attack in alphabetical order? How about REVERSE alphabetical order. Xerxes thought he was safe, BWAHAHA!

Wow, I was going to do the same thing lol.. Nice

I agree.
The A's, B's, and C's need to start an Anti-Funday Monday movement and go in reverse alphabetical order. Watch a FFA start and half the people yell, "FUNDAY MONDAY!" and the other half with, "ANTI-FUNDAY MONDAY!"
|
It really should be Funday anti-Monday, or Reverse Funday Monday. We're not anti-fun.

Just call it Yadnom Yadnuf and be done with it
