Anyways here it is: http://www.gamereplays.org/starcraft2/replays.php?game=33&show=details&id=126809#/replay_overview Mostly just proud of myself for following what Day9 says, but on a 3v3 scale. Theres a beginning, middle and end -- a "plan". The strategy: + Show Spoiler + Beginning: super early rush from shiru. This allows me to move overlords all over the map. Middle: secure our expansions/defend from the counter attacks. Keep them from expanding if they play passively. End: shiru watches out for expos with ling/muta. Derek (me) attacks the main base at multiple locations with extensive nydus, or occasionally assists attacking expos when opportune. Karim feeds Shiru and myself money. Psychologically, they are always on the defensive because attacks can come from just about anywhere, our units are more mobile, and we do not need to be as effecient. Strategically shiru doesn't get gas because he just needs ~100 for zergling speed and hes mostly to harrass. It does not actually matter if he lives because he is not investing in anything beyond zerglings. Derek is investing in upgrades ASAP because he is the main for attacking the enemy. Because Karim is not getting anything other than SCVs/marines, as a whole we spend less money on buildings/tech and so have a bigger army making it so that we don't need to be as effecient as our opponents. Skill wise, this strategy is easier to perform than many others because each player has a specific task. 1 player rushes, and then just harrasses/looks for expos. 1 players focuses on spending money and attacks primarily via rally point/attack move. 1 player focuses on making money. Shiru always picks zerg and rushes. Karim always picks terran and gets the money for us. I play random and adapt my strategy as necessary. As terran I go marines for the initial survival then switch immediately to mech. As Protoss I would usually just mass stalkers with blink/upgrades and then switch to air if went into the super late game. Things I keep in mind when we do this strategy (we only lost twice once we started doing this strat): 1. Have to protect Karim and myself only. If I was on the outside instead of Shiru, I would have made 6-7 spine crawlers. 2. I don't need to micro, I need to focus on spending the money karim sends me.

So i won't argue or whine, it was very very fun to watch and i hope we have more relaxed dailies in the future, it's nice to change the pace from time to time and just site and have fun around some mid level games where you find people doing some mistakes that we all did at some point of our progression or we are still doing. And again, Day9 you'r just the best :D

Of course there was plenty of whining in the chat. I really like the sillier dailies, but mostly because they are more scripted/structured. At any rate, I have no doubt the dailies will only get better. I've hooked a few friends already. Just gonna put this here since it had to come out at some point (sappy back-story incoming). I was really worried about my friend's interest in playing Starcraft 2. We all played Starcraft together and had LAN's every chance we got, but over time I got better while they did not improve much. At the time I enjoyed my lead over them and accepted my wins, but over time I started analyzing their replays so they could improve. But I didn't really know enough to help them improve beyond some basic macro mechanics. Also, I'm sure they didn't care to get schooled in a game, then turn right around and have me try to teach them how to play. Eventually their interest waned. I was so sure none of them would pick up sc2 to play again, but they are all returning. I've had early success during the beta against them, but once I discovered Day9 I immediately sent them towards his dailies. They are improving, we are discussing strategies and things are awesome. I have to thank Day9 for closing the gap between my friends and myself. Also, I'm improving a lot, so I don't know if the gap will eventually stay the same (d'oh!) or if we'll end up on similar levels. Anyway, keep going man, you're improving the quality of my games and my LAN's. You're an inspiration, and I'm pretty sure gamers for years to come will look back with pride and d9d #100.

It was also nice comparison to watch these two middish-level day9 2v2 matches and then watch the TLO Jinro / qxc art 2v2s on HD's youtube. ![]()

I would like to request a daily about the Artosis issues about ZvT Mech. Could you maybe get those replays, where he just could not beat IdRa's mech? That would be awesome! I wonder, if you would get to the same conclusion or not... Edit: I'm referencing the podcast #6

Freezes after 60 seconds for me on both the download and on blip.tv. No idea if it's just me or the video.
