Once I have 20 or so uploaded, I'll check how you guys like the quality :> there should be a day9 website, way to keep all your videos writing and news in one place.

Congrats on the awesome daily cast, Sean. Glad to see someone else from our circle of friends in KC make the trek out west.

Day9, I have a question. How much space it takes to store all 100 day9 daily.
|
Dear Sean,
you are a truly inspiring human being. I enjoyed watching your 100 show, and related to many stories. I'd like to give a big shout out to your whole family. Modern technology is a truly wonderfull thing, when used by right people in a good way and you are obviously one of those people. Just look at all these people posting in this allready 189 pages bug topic, look at the countries they are from and see how many people from different cultures you have inspired. How many so different people related to your stories and felt all those emotions. Passion for knowledge and competion, in a well mannered and fair way, is universal power all over the globe, which you proved once more with this absolutly genious and hugely inspiring show.
Keep up the good work and thank you. Vojislav.

Day[9] please check out my Guide for Terran Timing Pushes and Build Orders, also if u think it is good tell people it is good and to check it out!

I was the one who posted D9D to Digg that Day just mentioned on his stream
http://digg.com/pc_games/Moving_story_of_a_life_of_Starcraft_Sean_Plott_aka_Day_9
I submitted it a day ago, and I'm not sure if Digg's algorithm will keep the story down because of that. They do take age into account but I'm not sure what is considered "old". I don't know if it would be worth it for someone else to recreate the digg and have everyone digg it right away.

^ digg the crap out of this

Hi day[9], you are awesome, thank you for everything you are doing for bw+sc2! keep on going, we need you!

Day, have you considered using Google moderator to get good questions from the audience? This way, all your viewers can vote on the questions, and the good questions get answered. Instead of being a random question you just happened to select out of all those crazy messages, you answer what the viewers actually want to see in aggregate.

Do you think your pen spinning abilities have helped you be faster on your fingers when playing starcraft!?

I don't trust most viewers to want the answer to a question that actually relates to what was being shown rather than something like "hey day9 will you marry me"

The UI is nice, he is still free to ignore the top questions if he thinks they are too dumb/jokey whatever. I think the quality of questions will improve. Anyway, it's probably worth a try.

i think there is actually a color auto adjust thing on his camera.
i think the issue might be either:
TrueColor or ClearFrame
TrueColor: Automatically controls exposure for bright and colorful video.
ClearFrame ClearFrame image-processing technology delivers smooth, detailed video, even in low light conditions.
the standard Microsoft technologies that are integrated with every live cam (which i think day9 has.)
turning off true color will get rid of the drastic changes exposure when ever he leans in.
(these technologies also cause some lag to happen from the camera, and can drastically drop your fps)
I have a crappy logitech cam which have similar technologies on it, and I have already experienced these problems.
also, i think clear frame, (due to the relative low quality of the 500kbs streaming), isnt really needed.
ill install the software and navagate around in it to see if this can be done.
*edit* yea, they can be turned off. thats something that is up to day though.

also, i think day. is doing an excellent job on answering questions and picking the right ones. so why change a good thing. eh?
I'm still waiting for the day that any of my questions actually get put into chat (i swear i could enter them in there for hours and it still wouldn't break the buffer that's in place for chat.), let alone getting one answered.
however, you must admit, that the questions he picks have great responses attached to them.

~100 one-hour episodes at 500 kbps would be a little over 20 GB.

Wow, watched #100 now. Very nice. I wouldn't have dared to do that. Almost cried a bit along with you there^^ Some very cool stories, i especially liked the androide and leaning over to see artosis' face^^ When will we see video responses from your mom and brother? haha^^

I just wanted to say thanks for all the awesome videos videos and commentary, as a fellow Starcraft player from kansas (I'm like 5 minutes away from Leawood).
|
I was going to just skim through but I ended up watching the whole thing. I even rewatched some parts because the stories were so amazing.
And honestly some of the stuff like "it's just chemicals" and "a loss is just an arrow in the wrong direction" and how you took it to heart is better advice than any motivational speaker ever gave.
