Does anyone have any tips on base management?
I start with Bunkers and Marines (4 bunkers at initial opening), then add towers, PTs and Tanks.
That seems to be the best way to go, but I'd appreciated any advice and tips you have for it.

Also threw some bunkers around the base to occupy space and filled a few with reapers in the more common places for the in-base nydus. I can't remember what wave we were at but, it was 59 minutes and a few seconds. Wave 18 I think?

To start I send all my SCVs to minerals, start the +1 weapons upgrade, salvage the bunker and constantly pump out SCVs and marines. Before the wave starts hitting you'll want to build two bunkers around your choke. I put two bunkers in the lowground and one on each of the raised grounds (I host so I always play the southern base). I've never played the other side so can't really give much insight on how that one should be set up. I put three SCVs on gas when the weapon upgrade is 50-75% done or so and get the range upgrade and then the other two weapons upgrades and finally the building armor upgrade (the infantry armor upgrades are a waste of gas imo, tanks are far more useful). The higher your tank population the easier the game will be so you'll want to save as much gas for them as possible. One player rushing omnisteel and the other rushing tanks seems like the best items for the biomass. I place a marauder in the extra spot once we get omnisteel. They're great for slowing down the baneling things that spit acid(concussive shells). Two turrets (and eventually more, as they'll start coming 4+ at a time around wave 15) will counter the spotters. We bought the tank tech when the first choker showed up and a short time after once we had a few tanks much makes it impossible for anything to not die once in Line of Sight. Keep a mobile infantry group to take out the nydus worms as they appear and use Planetary fortress to tank the stanks. We always end up getting overrun by spotters though ![]()

right now my strategy is to have two bunkers(keep building units and rally them behind) and 2 scvs repairing for the first 2 waves, then plan on adding a PF behind it with range upgrade. Then add on bunkers and turrets at the high ground. haven't gotten far enough to see if this pans out.. ally usually dies.

Unfortunately I have yet to find someone to do this with me, i really like that map...

He's talking about the survival mode, which is much more challenging (imo). It's similar to the last level of the campaign. P.S. Anyone want to team up to get these? Cant seem to find anyone good on battle.net. PM me for character code.

Unfortunately I have yet to find someone to do this with me, i really like that map... I wasn't aware you could trade biomass actually, but if one player doesn't buy anything they'll get 150 biomass when the first choker shows up which is the exact moment you need tanks. Two turrets around your tanks will get you the 15 wave achievement. The spotters start to overwhelm around this time period though. Once you're maxed out you'll have such an excess of minerals that building extra turrets is probably the better way to do it anyways as goliaths require gas. You just need a turret farm so that the spotters can't contaminate them all and SCVs to repair. As for doing the brutal in 5 days, I suggest using an MMM composition. I open the exact same way as above. However, you want to rush for medics instead of tanks/omnisteel. Omnisteel is a great upgrade for defense though so you might need it to hold. Rush stim and just mass infantry the entire game. Don't bother trying to kill stuff during the night because it'll spawn a horde of enemies that will kill a lot of your units. It isn't worth it unless you're killing the last few buildings. We sweeped the north first and then each took a side to sweep around. Just constantly produce infantry and attack move around the map to kill all the buildings. Stim every time it wears off as your medics can heal everything up during the night while you sit in your base.

I think you need to play it with a partner, because if you play alone, you are limited to 200 food, while I guess with 2 players you'll have 400 food max. Then again, once shares the tech... so I'm not 100% sure with that ![]() edit) Now I'm sure, you share the Bio-Tech and you get twice as many mercenaries (4 siege breakers instead of 2 if soloing). Though everyone needs to upgrade their stuff individually, you also got 400 food (compared to max 200 if solo).

3 Bunkers with Marines Slowmauraders in beginning into mass tanks/pf/turrets and few goliaths to snipe these giant overseers. If someone want to see exactly how heres the replay: http://www.mediafire.com/?wizh9tetjcy7i3u

You just can't mass enough siege tanks by yourself to put out the damage required to stop the swarms. So much of your supply is going to be taken up by mining SCVs, repairing SCVs, and marines in bunkers... your tank count just can't get high enough.

Had a good partner, got wave 20 (but was essentially dead on wave 18/19), we just ran out of money at the end. I wish the min and gas had a bit more in em to help us along. Quickly get bunker tech, and tanks.. then do whatever you want from there.

Also, make your main CC a PF, it will help to deal with hunters A LOT.

There's no disadvantage to playing alone until you reach 200 supply as long as you can control twice as much stuff. You only need to get upgrades once as well so you have a slight advantage there being able to quickly get +1 range and +1 weapons. Wave 15 would certainly be challenging by yourself as you're very limited in army count though, but you might be able to make up the difference with mass planetary. I'm very tempted to try this now, but I'm not sure I have the APM ^_^

We don't even bother getting the bunker upgrade but the '+2 building armor', '+1 range on PF and turrets', siege tank and goliath techs are all vital.
