Spurs had been declining ever since the (admittedly excellent) first half-season in the league. I mean it’s nice to win a trophy but if everything else is a mess that doesn’t erase all of that. Especially given the Europa League doesn’t nearly have the same quality it did since the reformat. I mean it was a godawful final that could have gone either way, I’d be saying the exact same about Amorim actually if Man United had taken the prize. As I said, if Spurs had an underwhelming league season but were floating around 8th-12th or something, plus a trophy and a League Cup semi appearance, especially considering their injuries that’s a kinda reasonable season. 17th? Probably no, for me anyway. That Spurs have further botched it I don’t think means moving on from Ange was the wrong call. Not as if he pulled up trees at Forest, although in fairness to him that sure as fuck isn’t a squad that suits his style | ||
