RIP Sir Bobby Charlton - probably the most influential United figure along with SAF and Busby.

So 3rd game in a row zincheko gets subbed early and the team is better with tomiyasu on. Why does arteta keep playing him? Is it because hes a former city player? Tomiyasu is much better. Arsenal dont need another midfielder, they need a defender

Well, add in fact Zinchenko is a left back, and Tomiyasu isn't that probably pays into it, even though you are correct, he is way better than Zinchenko currently.

Game yesterday was so good and bad from Chelsea perspective, 75 minutes bossed Arsenal and looked great, then Enzo got tired, our subs weren't up to the level and we concede a silly goal and then switch off again and its 2-2

The next chapter in the VfB Stuttgart fairy tale: Guirassy scores again, and with 14 goals in 8 games, there is only one occasion in which a player has had more goals in the top 5 leagues since 2000 (stats according to the commentator). That was CR7 with Real, but not Messi. Sadly, instead of having the chance to equalize CR7's record, he had to be subbed off injured shortly after.

Pretty damn impressive, where’s he come from with this kind of form?! I like to think I follow the game pretty closely but must confess I hadn’t heard of the bloke prior haha

He was always between Bundesliga and French Ligue 1, then last season on a 1 year lease in Stuttgart, but Stuttgart was shit last season and would have undoubtedly been relegated if it wasn't for him. He scored 11 goals in 22 matches.

He has a supposedly small muscle injury in the thigh and will hopefully play again in ~ 3 - 4 weeks. Lets hope he can break some records for Stuttgart before going to Real/ PSG/ Chelsea.

It's kind of odd seeing how better the Spurs seem to be. Imagine not having a team revolve around a well known self centered figure would improve everything from playstyle, to morale...

Harry Kane self centered figure??
He stayed at a small club for ages. He could have won tons of trophies and earned way more money if he had moved on.

Yeah I don't get what stealthblue seems to have against Kane xd

He's been a great success at Bayern, too. Overshadowed by Guirassy obviously but 9 goals 4 assists in his first 8 league apps. It is weird seeing spurs be this good this season, but it's not because they lost Kane. Tbh I haven't seen them play much but I've heard Maddison has been a revelation.

I think he meant the way he plays, but even that doesn't make sense imho.
If a striker is amazing at scoring a shitload of goals, every manager in the world will tell them to get into a scoring position every time they get the chance. Kane is the player you tell 'if you can shoot, shoot'. Its not selfish, its best for the team that he does that.

Kane has been so great for Bayern that I predict he will make the fans forget Lewandowski..

Also Spurs definitely isnt so great because Kane left. Its all down to Ange and Maddison signing. They have been missing a playmaker ever since eriksen left

He is incredibly involved in buildup and creating chances. Like Lewandowski was too. He is exactly what bayern needed. No idea what's self centered about him. What a stupid take by Stealth.

While i don't agree with the reasoning, maybe there is a connection with the Kane leaving Spurs and now they look a bit better? They move away from Kane coming deep to collect ball to long ball it to Son, to now actually playing there way through teams? Maybe Kane couldn't play this way as we all have seen he comes so deep to get the ball during his Spurs and even now England days, rather than staying up front like Haaland does for example?

However this also could be due to how Spurs have been set up for when Kane has been there? But i mean him leaving and them looking way better offensively has to have some correlation?

This also isn't taking away from Kane, i think he is best striker this country has ever produced which is stupidly high praise when you think of the strikers England have had!!

It’s far more big Ange, as well as Maddison. They’ve gone from pretty stodgy, defensive football super reliant on Kane to be both the 9 and 10, to not doing that. You’ve also got guys like Bissouma who look reinvigorated after being deemed surplus to requirements.

Add in Son not having his best season last time out, Richarlison not really getting going and Kane’s season and Tottenham’s placing looks all the more circumstantially impressive.

It’s a shame for Kane that he hasn’t had a Spurs side playing like this one currently is for quite some time, but he couldn’t wait around forever.

Kane’s still dropping and linking with Bayern, and he really does excel as a deeper, creative 9 with lots of interplay around him, but he isn’t the almost sole creative outlet like he ended up at times with Spurs.

One of those summers where it seemed to work out for all parties really. I still think Kane would have been a better fit for City than Haaland is, as ruthless as the latter is the former I think would dovetail with how they play a bit better

I think Haaland at city is two different players depending on whether there's a De Bruyne around. With him, you can reliably expect that there's some type of hard cross being made into the box reasonably frequently, and Haaland is uniquely great at converting those. Without him, seems like there are much fewer of those chances, and that City's attacks take longer to reach a conclusion (and then I'm inclined to agree that a Kane is better than a Haaland).

I haven't seen the numbers crunched so maybe I'm wrong, but this is my impression.

That feels pretty spot on to me really, that De Bruyne/Haaland combination is particularly lethal, it’s less so when City’s multitudes of 10s are doing their intricate interplay thing and slowing it up waiting for gaps.

Perhaps I’m just remembering that one incredible outside of the foot deep cross too prominently, but it seemed Cancelo was more willling and able to whip in the kind of early balls Haaland somehow gets to as well

Yeah i guess it must literally come down to playstyle, but im sure Tim Sherwood and Poch times weren't that negative where they? Maybe i forget too much.

You are right about Maddison that guy is crazy good, shame Southgate will never play him
