Next qualification with the entire team being two years better and hopefully Haaland not being injured is promising, even though the performance vs Latvia+Netherlands was a bit disappointing. (tbh, vs Latvia we were also unlucky to not get a goal - we certainly had enough chances) I get the impression that our performance vs Netherlands seemed a bit lackluster, but even if we've improved, the Netherlands on away field is still too big of a task to expect us to dominate or even play an even match. I do think our best chance of squeezing out a victory was to keep the game tight with few chances going either way - if we say that Norway will on average create 1 chance for every 3 chances the Netherlands creates (up until the 80th minute it was like 0.5 vs 4, but I think that was the basic idea going into the game) then we're way more likely to win if there are only 4 chances total - 1 vs 3, than if there are 16 total - 4 vs 12.. Oh well!

The last 20 minutes however Mexico looked like the team people expect them to play as. the game really came down to the differences between the goalies and canadia had the better man between the sticks.

Oh well! Yeah, we all expected a different game than we saw from you guys yesterday. On the one hand, it seemed way too defensive for a must-win game, on the other hand, when you did try and push at the end, we immediately got lots of space, so those tactics might well have been the best option. Glad we were spared the humiliation of not making it (again), but I would've liked to see Norway in the playoffs instead of Turkey. Everyone turns on their set when Ibra or Haaland plays, not so much for Yilmaz... Also, is Canada going to make it? Just found out they only ever qualified for the world cup once...and they're in the continent that's easiest to qualify from, imo. Good to see they're improving!

We were also factoring in how Turkey vs Montenegro was going. Montenegro had the lead early on - and they had some really big chances when it was 1-1 - and if Montenegro had won, then we'd get a playoff spot with 0-0. Also we had 9 shots in the post during the tournament, and there were a couple games where we had something like 12 players injured that would have started ahead of the guys who were fielded. Future optimism is high even if the end was disappointing. ![]()

This is what football is these days. Just another way of exploiting people in service of the ultra wealthy. What a sad waste of a good sport.

Yes, and no offense meant to Norway at all, but they are showing the successful countries how to be a football nation. I wish some of the big name teams would join them. Every country that takes part is taking part in the abuse of these people. Old Brian Clough would be spinning in his grave.

It seems an awfully long list to have been researched by one guy, and I’m assuming it wasn’t, just the Reddit thread is listing a lot of the stuff alluded to.

Yesterday he said he'll present something more structured this winter as he's overwhelmed by all the informations he gets. Also he's not working alone.
