I agree, nothing to do in the summer but imo this should be the best "technical" world cup we have right ? From a bias european point of a view at least?
All the players now going to get a full summer off, to then get fit in a full pre season to then play for 2 months to get to "peak?" fitness wise to then go into the world cup. I feel that means all the european based players are going to be at their peak in the world cup instead of coming off the back of crazy hard seasons. For example Liverpool, Man City and Chelsea have all played 60 games or more and in Liverpool' case every single game possible lol. This doesn't normally bode well for these players heading into a world cup, normally.
So if you reverse that with this winter world cup, should be good right? Might get a champions league kind of good tournament with lots of goals, lost of comebacks and high intensity games!
That is the only thing keeping me going for this utter stupidly located world cup in Qatar at least T_T

Yeah this has been debunked already and even if you believe it the article points to the government SHIFTING the goalposts again lol, it says the government made more changes and are not sure that Roman will agree to them, is the article in a nutshell.
This guy is the best mouthpiece of the sale and has been right about everything and he says no way this is right but does concede that it hasn't been done yet.
Also this tweet below is from the Unicef guy that Roman put in charge of the foundation he said this today;

Our performance has been so lackluster so far. We really need to step it up

Absolutely embarrassing performance. We don't deserve CL football

Disappointing, I kinda wanted them to make it myself. That said realistically I think their current level is probably Europa league, and that might be a good platform to build on and have a tilt at

I feel like the result that will give the biggest banter ever would be Tottenham losing to Norwich but Arsenal only manages to draw

Brits and penalty shootouts are a thing that don't go well XD Even subbed in Ramsey 3 minutes before!

Frankfurt prolly one of the most deserving EL winners in history!
Also two Japanese players winning it for Frankfurt!

Y’argh, fair play to Frankfurt though better side on the night, and have been great throughout the competition.
I’m hoping the Scottish sides can keep this momentum and be a more consistent presence in Europe moving forwards
I think I probably enjoy the latter stages of the Europa League more than the CL these years, loads of good stories and smaller clubs striking rare ground instead of the usual rotation of a handful of behemoths

I agree. Champions league has become pretty boring imo. I have enjoyed the europe league latter stages a lot for the last few years! Automatic qualification to the champions league has made it a much better tournament

grats to everton for staying up but it shouldn't have happened in the first place.

Everton fans ran onto the pitch after the third goal in the 85th minute. There was a second invasion at full-time when Vieira had a confrontation with a fan.
In other matches, Billy Sharp was assaulted and Swindon players were physically abused by Port Vale fans. I'm sure there have been more incidents too.
