Liverpool's midfield is already overloaded with Keita, Thiago, Fabinho, Henderson, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jones and Millner all capable of playing there. Pool just consider 30 million a lot on the Corona market - so do Bayern, as they've been unwilling to pay 15 mil for Perisic and 20 mil for Dest. From what I gather Dest is the most likely new signing now, they won't attempt to find a replacement for Thiago and instead have a back-up for Pavard they can rely on so that the never injured Kimmich can always play in midfield.
Still think they should look for someone for the wings as well.

Inter wanted 15 mil for Perišić? That's a kinda steal price for him.

Bayern had a clause to buy him for 20 and from what I hear the absolute most they were willing to pay after the end of the season was 12 while Inter wanted minimum 15. Flick really wanted him to stay cause he's a good fit for the team but apparently Bayern were unwilling to pay that on top of the relatively high player wages. Now it actually looks like Conte will use him again after he wanted to get rid of him last season.
Flick has kept asking for reinforcements to the squad because he thinks it's too small for this upcoming season but I don't think he's happy if it's off the back of Thiago leaving.
E: Rummenigge officially confirmed to Bild that Thiago to Pool is happening.

Makes sense. Thanks.

For me Thiago is very injury prone, jumping into a league which is very physical and with so many games, he is good but is he ready at 29 to re adjust a fragile body to the league? If he does Liverpool have a huge chance of defending their title, if he doesn't and they lose Winjaldum they could see themselves a bit short.

Dest to Bayern apparently a done deal. Still missing a forward though

Only stuff I've heard: loans for either Pedri (Barca) or Hudson-Odoi (Chelsea) but they'd probably want the option to buy and I don't see that happening. Also Javi Martinez seems set to leave Bayern to return to Bilbao.
There were also reports from Kicker that Bayern have a candidate for central midfield with Thiago leaving but I don't think they name dropped anyone. There were Brozovic rumors at one point but apparently there's no interest from Bayern there.

Are there any numbers circulating about what Miami will pay Higuain btw? I didn't expect him to go to the US yet.

$130k a week apparently.

That is about average? I am sure there would have been more offers around that wage for him in Europe surely? I mean i bet when he moved to Chelsea he was on that sort of wage. Guess he fancied life in Miami and to be fair who wouldn't? (Minus obviously Corona issues)

Well yeah in Europe etc. it's nothing outstanding but I don't think that kind of wage is very common in the MLS yet. Who knows what other stuff goes on top of the salary through sponsors anyway.
Bundesliga about to start. Davies only on the bench for Bayern (apparently he missed some training this week), Alaba out with a thigh injury. Bayern bench looks comical with 2 goalkeepers, an LB, a striker, a CB and 5 central midfielders.

Haha return of the injury hit Bayern we all remember xD

Schalke is a disaster. By far the worst Bundesliga team in this calendar year.

8-0 lol
I don't care how poor Schalke was, Bayern's continued run is something else entirely.
The last 30 games of the previous season saw them go 29-1-0 with 98-22 goal difference in all competitions. Starting off this one with 8-0..
I mean injury prone sure, but are there really any indispensible players for them? Obv attack suffers if muller and lewandowski are out, but even if they become 25% weaker then aren't they still pretty much top dog?

Above even Lewandowski, they can't replace Kimmich now that Thiago left. Kimmich is basically never sick or injured so it's alright, but none of Bayern's other midfielders can take his part and do it nearly as well as him so you can't really rotate him out at any point either.
As for the 25% weaker, I think it was quite clear under Kovac that 25% weaker Bayern would struggle to stay ahead of Dortmund and Leipzig.

Wolves' winger Diogo Jota going to Liverpool for apparently £41M. The five year contract as well makes it look like contingency planning for Salah/Mane moving on. Can't see him starting too often this season apart from the clear rotation games (cups, some weaker premier league games) but I guess they need to prep for more than usual rotation and the coming AFCON year. Jota definitely showed some promise last season and is only 18 or 19 I think, but £40M+ for a substitute winger is a lot of money.

Jota is 23 already. Apparently he's got pretty similar profile as Mane when Liverpool got him.
