I think there's a clip of Neymar repeating something along the lines of 'No racism' to the guy, I assume it's prior to the fight. That makes it quite likely that at least thinks he heard some kind of racist slur. Of course it still could miscommunication or so, there's probably a lot of angry halfway intelligible language being thrown around in heated matches like that.

Kingsley Coman is in quarantine because he had contact with an infected person so he's likely to miss the start of the Bundesliga season on Friday. So that means Sané is all but guaranteed to start for Bayern. But for Germany it was obvious he was very lacking in fitness, so there's no way he can go the full 90 minutes. The only other 'real' winger in the main squad is Phonzie Davies who's also the LB.
Gonna be interesting to see what Flick does then because the Bayern squad is even smaller than it was last season when it was already one of the smallest in Bundesliga and UCL (plus it might get even smaller in the next few weeks because Javi Martinez and Thiago are likely to leave).

Yeah but bayern are again in such dominating position that they can afford to play academy players. None of the other bundesliga clubs even have remotely the belief that they could beat bayern.

On top of that Coman and Gnabry are injury prone and Sané is returning from a severe injury. Since there's not a backup for every position there's bound to be days where Bayern will be running on fumes. A few of the most talented youth players are on loan now as well. If this isn't the hardest season for Bayern in a while more things are going wrong in the Bundesliga than I thought.

Ah ok, the only rumours I read the last few months were regarding a cheap RB backup.
Right now Bayern is probably keen on a) Liverpool getting their shit together, that's embarassing for a supposed top club, and b) resolving the Alaba situation (maybe they get a fee for him this summer, then they are going to reinvest)

Far as I know all signings for Bayern are off the table until they sell players. They're sure they can reach an agreement to sell Javi Martinez and they're convinced Thiago has an agreement with Pool and are waiting for bids there (making little effort to keep him). They desperately want Alaba to stay (somewhat ironic, Thiago was amazing in the UCL finals while Alaba almost gave Mbappé an assist in the box).
Flick is asking for a 4th winger, a backup for RB (the rumors have been Dest and Max Aarons both of whom are too expensive for Bayern before selling anyone) and if Thiago leaves he wants someone for central midfield as well.

Bale was underwhelming all season last year. Zidane gave him a lot of minutes the first months and he played like he didn't care.
Maybe I'm wrong but I think his physical and pace is not up anymore for top level. He probably will give Tottenham some goals but don't expect him to defend or run a lot.

Spurs are going to be god awful this season. So I like Bale going back there because it at least gives them some sense of excitement. He's wasting his time at Madrid even if they do pay him very handsomely for his time on the bench. I don't like the idea of Bale suddenly coming to the rescue of Mourinho and firing them into the Champions League. But to be honest I don't think that's going to happen. There's too much wrong at Spurs. It will also be interesting to see how the pay structure works out. Spurs are quite famous for been very frugal with wages. So How much are they really going to pay and how much will Real still be paying for a player that's not even playing for them (although you can argue that's already happening so getting any of his wages of their books is some kind of win). I think Spurs been cheap and not accepting to pay enough of his wages is where this whole deal will collapse.

Thiago to Pool will apparently be a done deal soon for 30 million, Klopp really wants him. With the incoming money Bayern will probably try to fulfill some of Flick's demands.

Looks like Thiago to Liverpool is happening. Interesting to see if this triggers some of the other rumored transfers too. Wijnaldum to Barca might be a thing now at least, not sure if someone leaves Barca as a result.

I honestly don"t know what took them so long. 30 mill for a world class 29 y/o is still a bargain, even at this time. I believe the likelyhood of Wijnaldum leaving is pretty high. Liverpool's midfield is already overloaded with Keita, Thiago, Fabinho, Henderson, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jones and Millner all capable of playing there.
