Wrestling had almost zero popularity. They played everything else except tackle football. The best 2 athletes in my high school seemed to pick up and excel at almost any sport except for tackle football due to size requirements. They were even really good at stuff like snooker and curling. My father was one of 9 kids and my mother was one of 3. I've got over 20 cousins. The best athlete in my family can excel at any sport or any physical activity. I think that is typical. The 1 thing i`ve found that has a chance to stump even the most gifted of athletes is hitting a baseball. It can be the great equalizer. While I agree with what you're saying, this is always an interesting subject for me because the most athletically successful student from my grade (currently plays and does quite well in the NHL) was fairly mediocre as an athlete outside of his main sport. In terms of raw athletic potential (size, speed, explosiveness, etc) myself and probably 10 others at my school were more impressive than him. I guess he did put on a ton of size and gained some speed when he got drafted, but growing up you would have never thought he would be a top tier player in the NHL. I guess Hockey is a sport where pure skill and decision making can win out in most cases (like being a quarterback in the NFL for example). Anyway the best "overall" athlete at my school was a freak in literally everything. He ended up only just playing college Baseball I believe, atlhough in HS he was the quarterback for our Football team, gold medalist in the 100m/longjump in Track, and just generally owned at anything we did in phys-ed. Think he even played premier Soccer in elementary school.

Watched most of the videos from this event. The one with Jerry West was really tough to watch as well.

If he had two players that were approximately equal he always went with the player that was the better pure athlete. Obviously, its all probabilities. There is no guarantee or perfect formula. The human is a strange animal and its tough to project what an 18 year old human will do when he/she is 25.

Kawhi was important and good for the Raptors in the playoffs. Zion Williamson looked great tonight against a decent opponent. Lonzo Ball is also playing really well. New Orleans was 10-4 before Zion started playing. If Zion stays healthy New Orleans has a shot at the 8th playoff spot.

If anyone of you is watching Dallas: why doesn't JJ get to play more? They kind of use him as a spark off the bench four a couple of minutes when the rest of the team is playing bad - maybe like every third or fourth game or something. To me he looks so good and efficient: I dont get why they dont play him regularly. Is it to develop Brunson (who looks like found money for a second round pick: almost VanVleet like at times)?

what do you think of Delon Wright? Does Dallas sometimes play Delon rather than Barea when they need more defense? at 2.5M/year i think Barea is a bargain relative to Delon's 10M/year

Welp , he broke a metacarpal bone in his left hand and he'll be out a while. Big loss for the Raptors. The Raptors play such a brutally physical defensive game that the giant pile of injuries they've had this year is no giant fluke.

Part of being a pro sports athlete who says the world is flat and also having other unusual opinions means that people will think that athlete might be milking injuries beyond their normal recovery time. I don't think Kyrie is milking his injuries but I can understand why people would disagree with me. A big reason I was one of the only people in the office of my #1 customer to back Kawhi 100% is that I had a 2 year battle with tendonitis myself. A lot of people thought Kawhi was milking his injury. Some people still think Kawhi shouldn't be taking so many load management days and that Kawhi is still milking his injury status for extra rest time.
