I didn't see the game, but from what I can gather, people are unhappy because Atkinson kept giving freekicks on really soft fouls all over the place, broke down the game flow as a result and then randomly drops the consistency for that specific decision.
Most people seem quite okay with the Mane handball being called and all that. At least that rule seems to be consistently enforced, let it be for the better or worse.
Disappointing result for Liverpool of course, but you're going to have these games every season somewhere. There's a reason while the whole invincibles thingy is so rarely pulled off.

i dont get where the idea that any sort of contact against a player that doesnt touch the ball is an immediate foul came from. those arent the rules. there has to be an element of excessive force, danger, impediment, unsportsmanlike conduct etc and no matter how you look at it a grown athlete like origi is not going to collapse to the floor because an opponent basically brushes his shin. to be fair i think if origi made less of a show of the contact the ref may have ruled against the goal, but it was pretty obvious origi was looking to deceive the ref more than the challenge being legitimately against the rules.
also liverpool cant cry about that incident being a foul when daniel james literally gets pounded to the floor twice, once ending up with a bleeding nose, and no foul is called on either of those incidents.

No matter how biased you are, with the replays that are available, you simply cannot claim that this instance is not a foul. I can't wrap my head around that. I don't even understand that there's a discussion about it here..
Liverpool's goal denial was also correct but I can understand Klopp's reaction after that farce a couple minutes ago, Mané has given himself an advantage with that handball.
I would have to disagree. Players go down easily all the time and if the referee always gave soft fouls the game would have too many unnecessary breaks.

Good to know Premier League is not yet decided
Aaaaaaand it's CL week again! Not much high end games though. I'm gonna keep an eye out for Ajax vs Chelsea and Inter vs Dortmund

I think going down because you severely lose balance is fine, even if it means you sorta dive. But football is a contact sport, a slight tug or a tiny kick isn't enough. (I mean part of being a good defender is knowing how much you are allowed to tug. ) Tiny kicks can be enough though, I mean, if you're running at a high pace then you don't need much of a touch to be pulled off balance. At the same time you sometimes see players falling from contact they would never fall from during practice. That is very off-putting to me and I don't want to see it rewarded. However that can also sorta be what my first sentence refers to.
So I guess what I would love to see is a player get a free kick for being pulled off balance, and a yellow card for an exaggerated fall, at the same time. :D

Hockey has that. Embellishment is a 2minute minor, it doesnt matter if you were fouled or not. In the NHL there are actually also post game punishments for embellishment, usually a small extra fine but escalating for repeat offenders.

Happy 70th, Wenger. I am missing you now and wish I had never gotten on the Wenger Out bandwagon

Just cope by realizing even horrible stats can make you feel happy:
Arsenal bookings for diving this season: 7 Spurs away points in 2019: 8

The thing with Wenger is that he is prolly one of the saddest people that emery is not successful because he really loves Arsenal FC with all his heart

Arsenal used to be fun to watch, always attacking and playing nice footy. They would still be a meme and fail a lot in competitions and lack a back bone but at least they were fun to watch. Now, they are just boring and spineless ontop, it is just awful. How that can happen with Augamon and Lacazete upfront complimented by Pepe one of the most sort after young wingers in Europe is beyond me.
