It does feel like money laundering. Both clubs are highly suspect, and Juventus have gotten so many midfielders on free in recent years, that I fail to see how they would need another and at premium, while said player has played 1500 mins in all competitions this season and now supposed to be traded at thrice the price is pretty fishy, even if he is supposedly pretty good.

Probably a bullshit story.

I think the Arthur transfer is strongly coupled with rumors of Pjanic moving to Barca. At that point it makes a bit more sense somehow maybe, but still weird. Maybe there's some bookkeeping thingy why the swap is treated as two separate transfers.

Why? 22 points is also impossible in 7 matches. City has to win to delay Liverpool's title.

Barcelona finances are in a terrible shape so they had to make the Arthur deal... A player that had potential and was young. The team is now old, depending on Messi and need a renovation, but there is no money and Barcelona have the biggest salaries in Europe. This president is ruining the club.

Yeah, it seems like it's going to be some rough years for Barca. Pjanic deal (seems to be happening according to current headlines) could bring in some fresh ideas, but he's already 30 and probably demands decent salary too.

I think Barca is still has similar safety as ManU due to the club stature - but also as ManU has demonstrated, the rebuild isn't a quick and trivial thingy.

Apparently the Barca Arthur trade is some budget magic. If they end up with net loss on a season, the board has to be prepared to compensate from their own pockets (or something along those lines). So, they'll sell Arthur now, write it down on this budget period and buy Pjanic right at the start of the next budget period. Ta-Da, losses covered on this year's budget.

He is very good and talented Arthur, but i would rather Pjanic as of right now personally though. Do Barca really need both Arthur and DeJong as well right? Both very similar players and DeJong has a higher ceiling imo than Arthur has shown at least.

Lol he played very well today, looked super fit and sharp since the return of the league and has scored 2 goals and basically had an assist tonight as well.

5 points gap between us and 5th and 1point behind Leicester in 3rd!
