Who would have thought that EVERY California team (49'ers, Chargers, Raiders, Rams) would all pull off an epic choke job at once?
Garner Minchew should have the Rookie of the Year locked up. A 6th round pick dethrones a former Superbowl MVP who just got a signed to a hug deale, and ends up with a better record than the number 1 overall pick Kyler Murray with a worse team and less preparation. I know Nick Bosa will get the nod over Minchew, but damn that mustache can play.
The Bills 10 win season has made OJ put his old Naked Gun beanie on and go out celebrating + Show Spoiler +
Minshew will definitely NOT win ROTY - he's not even the top rookie on the team. There are at least 5 guys ahead of him. Bosa, Josh Jacobs, Terry McLaurin, Josh Allen (JAX), Marquise Brown, AJ Brown. Way too deep of competition for GM to win. I love him as much as the next guy, but he hasn't looked that great for a while now. Sure, the Jags might be a bad team, but he's not carrying them enough to make ROTY honors.
Both have balled out and it really depends on the needs of the teams at the top of the draft. Which teams need a semi mobile pocket passer vs a true dual threat?
Also in other news, Nebraska is closing this early recruiting class out strong. We've got some talent in the D coming in and I'm looking forward to the spring game to say the least. Season sucked, but this is the next best thing lol.

Bosa and Jacobs were supposed to be elite, both being high 1st round picks. GM was just meant to ride the pine on the practice squad and never see the field of play. GM's level of difficulty combined with lack of expectations makes his seasons performance more noticeable. If GM didn't get benched so the Jags could justify signing Foles to monster contract just to have Foles benched games later for playing like a scrub, I would argue GM would have an even better season. Going from bench warmer to starter to bench warmer to starter again and achieving this amount of success is remarkable considering the instability of the situation. GM is a man on an island with no help while being railroaded by a team who didn't even want him to play a snap, going against Bosa, who has the best Defensive Coordinator in the league Robert Saleh drawing up plays for him. Who has the highest degree of difficultly to overcome in order to achieve success?
ROY is a award for rookie with the best performance.
If you want to make a new award for rookie who performs best against expectations and take into account situation, then GM would be in the conversation. Hodges from Pittsburg would as well, undrafted, 3rd string now starting on a playoff team. And probably others.

anyway, something that i figured was worth discussing,
while burrow won the heisman, justin fields this year: 50 overall td's, 6 turnovers (1 int, 5 fumbles)
is it a hot take to say he will get drafted over lawrence next year (cue luck vs rg3 all over again)
I think its important to see what they do in the playoffs this year, and probably next year. Neither has really faced an NFL stacked roster yet (why Lamar dropped is he got eaten up by good competition). Also I think Feilds combine numbers really affect his draft stock.
Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Josh Gordon has been suspended indefinitely for violating the NFL's policies on performance-enhancing substances and substances of abuse.
The league announced the suspension Monday, one day after Gordon appeared in his fifth game this season with the Seahawks.
This marks Gordon's sixth suspension since the 2013 season and the fifth for some form of substance abuse, according to ESPN Stats & Information.
Gordon, 28, missed the entire 2015 and 2016 seasons as a member of the Cleveland Browns, and also was suspended last December for violating terms of his reinstatement, missing the final three games of the season with the New England Patriots. Editor's Picks
The Seahawks claimed Gordon last month after the former Pro Bowler was waived by New England. He has seven catches for 139 yards with Seattle, including a 58-yard reception during a 30-24 victory over the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.
Gordon has been the Seahawks' third or fourth receiver in terms of playing time behind Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf. He was playing similar snaps to Malik Turner. Gordon's suspension leaves the Seahawks with six wide receivers on their active roster. David Moore, Jaron Brown and rookie John Ursua are the others.
Seahawks coach Pete Carroll, who was excited about Seattle's acquisition of Gordon last month, is slated to address reporters at his regularly scheduled Monday news conference at 6 p.m. ET.
This is good news for AB considering the Hawks might take a chance on him now.

The XFL doesn't have the same policy so they could pick him up in February. PED's need a clearer definition in general. Punishing JG for Pot is like punishing a college kid for taking Adderal to study more, its a competitive advantage but isn't illegal.

We should totally punish college kids who use Adderal. Its deceptive marketing.
