doohan with another crash; colapinto licking his lips right now

Yuki did well in FP1, we didn't really get a FP2 unfortunately.

Ah if only that redbull was slightly less crappy this year.

What a lap by Max. As was mentioned in the broadcast; That Red Bull should not be on pole. Unfortunately Yuki didn't make it to Q3 but he did pretty well so far this weekend overall. Hopefully he can get into the points tomorrow.

Still going to be a McLaren 1-2 though, I reckon.

Likely, yeah. This track is pretty high on tyre degradation, and the McLarens, and perhaps especially Lando, have been really good at maintaining their tyres.
I'm calling it now: Max keeps P1 into T1, and stays there for two thirds of the race. Piastri swoops past Lando into T1 and takes his place, and then they'll keep their distance from each other to preserve tyres whilst keeping up with Max. About half way into the second stint, Max tyres starts falling off, and Piastri passes. Lando passes Max a few laps later. The podium is Piastri-Lando-Max in that order

That was a great lap by max, well done!
|
Norris seems more happy to block Piastri than to chase after Max for this race.
Maybe Norris is thinking about his WDC chances and Piastri is his only challenger
|
Not an eventful but a tense race to the end. What a masterclass by Max; Qualifying and finishing the race in front of the clearly faster McLarens.
Yuki couldn't impress unfortunately.

Welp, not going to take out lottery tickets any time soon. Tyre deg was much lower than anticipated. No one passed anyone into T1, and that was the race.

Yeah, Stella said post race that the new tarmac transformed the track from high deg to low and Russell said that Pirelli should bring softer tires when a track has been resurfaced.

K.Antonelli proves he has what it takes; gratz to him.
both Merc. and McL. found themselves an awesome pair of drivers while R.Bull is still struggling with a second; i guess all those years investing only in Verstappen are showing.
|
What a sprint race. Norris is the new blessed
|
For sure in Miami he is,safety car had his back last year as well.
Just watched the replay of the unsafe release; Wtf was that RBR mechanic thinking, releasing Verstappen into Antonelli? He had clear view of the situation. Bizarre mistake.

Another crash and another one where halo helped.
Glad Yuki can walk away
