Lol, Vetter from 20th to 2nd... Versetappen best driver. Add to that the cheers for drivers going out of the track. The Netherlands fans might be the most toxic I've seen so far. Can't wait for GP of Netherlands next year. btw no Hockenheim next year. But hey, we have a brand new Tilke street circuit in Vietnam. The boredom is just not enough this season. | ||

People give Ferrari shit for messing up strategy a lot, but I guess the thing to observe with Ferrari is that they take a lot of gambles that sometimes pay off and sometimes don't since they need to gamble to make up their performance deficit (other than last year, though they started to be behind in the second half of the season). They either come out looking like complete idiots or geniuses. Kimi's win last year in Austin comes to mind. Everyone thought Ferrari ruined his race but it turned out their gamble that Hamilton's tires wouldn't last paid off. Red Bull's strategy, on the other hand, is on a completely different level it seems much of the time. They always seem a step ahead of everyone else. edit: How long is Gasly going to be in that Red Bull seat? He's just not putting it together. He's had one decent race this season. He was being outperformed by both junior team drivers who were in a weaker car and he nearly took out Albon today. | ||

It is an electronic clutch(required for anti-stall), but it needs to match the driver input within a limit and within a certain amount of time, so that it replicates a mechanical clutch very closely. The alfas were triple and quadruple the time limit, so it's not a small tuning mistake. It's a large differential. The reason for the harsh penalty is that teams WILL push boundaries if the punishment is worth getting away with it. They got off relatively lightly considering the penalty for an illegal car in a lot of cases is a full disqualification. | ||
