e: They did it and they hold the tiebreaker. A draw against Germany will get them through, that could be a chance for salt at least i guess.

Like you havent really had any eye catching defenders that defend. Its mostly ball players and hes not bad on the ball either. His positioning, aerial ability, 1 v 1 defending, organizing the defense is all top notch and hes great mover for a guy his size. That bad touch that let Greizman in was the first mistake ive seen him make this season. The guy is legit, Liverpool dont win things they wont hold on to him for long

A team (like NL or Belgium) could win the playoffs in 2019, fail to qualify through the regular group phase, lose the playoffs for the tickets in march 2020 (vs iceland or wales or similar) and not be qualified...that just seems stupid. And also seems like something I can see NL do. I think you understood it correctly (or we're both misunderstanding). Seems like for group A they should give the spot to the winner of the Nations league, as that seems like an otherwise empty title from a pointless final. But I guess that fucks with the qualifier groups? The groups start before the finals and you'd have the winner playing qualification matches for a tournament they're already placed for.

The guy is legit, Liverpool dont win things they wont hold on to him for long In Liverpool he's also mentoring Gomez to a completely new level. Where Van Dijk's size may slow him down a tiny bit, you've got Gomez covering him nicely. As far as I can tell, Klopp was so persistent about Alisson and Van Dijk was because they both communicate so much. Right now you've got those two orchestrating stuff and then young talent like Alexander-Arnold and Gomez developing under them. Defensively Liverpool look like they could be solid for the next 5 years if they can retain the lineup and keep them healthy. Now if only the rest of the lineup could find the groove they've had at times...

Great NL side though, if it were not for a godly Lloris it would have been an humiliation. Now we can just pretend it's a glorified friendly and move on. Gomez is on the right track but any player would look at least decent alongside VVD, he's nothing special atm.

That guy was our midfield in the World Cup his engine and drive is what we need. Alongside him should be Barkley/Alli probably and then build team around that. To play him vs USA for a bit then not at all today is crazy. Oh well, our front 3 look extremely good in Rashford Sterling and Kane. To be fair Barkley was pretty shit, he kept giving the ball away cheaply, i don't really know what he contributed. Shame though cause I used to like him a lot when he was at Everton. Chelsea ruins everything ![]()

He's actually gonna be the best central defender in the world for the next decade.

Because the team won 3 CL with Keylor Navas. And now he is the bench while Courtois is playing not so good.
