because he was untouchable, so the law was follow Ferguson or get kicked out. Now it seems that there is no more situations like that, it is always the manager who gets the kick in the butt.

yeah. thats the sad part. the manager should be the law; its literally what you hire them for. the way chelsea players ousted mou was disgraceful and i hope we dont see that at united either. if the manager makes bad choices and the team suffers, then that something the higher ups and the fans will just have to live with. letting players control the club is the start of a long descent

I am afraid when Sir Alex did it, he was still winning games and never did it against the whole team right. He clashed with Cantona, Keane, Beckham, Staam. He picked people out who were going to cause issues and shoved them out. Rooney also i guess he clashed with.

Mourinho has gone about it the wrong way and is not only against the players but also stupid Woodward who is the biggest problem Yanited have right now.

It starts with Woodward who is the one that appointed that clown (right?). Whoever in his right mind decides to appoint Mourinho after his stint at Real Madrid is well and truly uncapable for his position. He disgraces every club he's been at since Real Madrid. Chelsea gets more and more public approval since Sarri has joined the club and they've gone on to play more positive football.

to be fair i dont think the whole team is against mou. the biggest problem is his relationship with pogba. there may be a few others (martial) that arent publicised but i dont think hes lost the dressing room as badly as it happened at chelsea. at least not yet.
youre right about saf being able to win without those players though. mou is in the unfortunate position where if he ousts pogba like saf did then we will never win anything. he cant keep pogba on either because their relationship is breaking and pogba, from a fans perspective, doesnt have the right mentality to carry the team anyway.
then theres the cherry on top which is woodward. absolute lost case whos too busy trying to find sponsorship deals rather than actually fix the clubs real problems. hires mou to win things but doesnt (or couldnt) give mou the players he wanted. some responsibility falls on mou for poor transfers as well though, such as lindelof/sanchez

Woodward or the lack of a strong person in the club is their biggest problem, I agree.

Right now they don't have an identity and it shows.

I mean Mourinho style is getting more and more outdated, but he could still win with it if he is given the tools to do so. Go back to his successful sides of Inter and Chelsea. It has 1 great creative player, a strong striker who can score. Work horse midfield battlers then a solid back 4.

He has the creative player a "bit" in Pogba, the big strong striker in Lukaku and the work horses like Matic, Herrera etc but he has no defense. Yes he himself has not helped in buying Bailly and Lindelof who have been average at best, but he was denied his signings in the summer it seemed. He was chasing the likes of Godin, Maguire and others, all no bids made or refusal from Woodward. When a guy like Woodward who has not got anything to do with football scouting etc denies a coach signings because "they aren't yanited players" is just daft. This is why Mourinho is acting like he is as well, he does not deal well with being told no when it is in the transfer market. This is what finished him in both Chelsea stints when he did not get what he wanted in the transfer market. This is what will finish him at Yanited it seems.

Update a bit on Ronaldo's situation:

https://twitter.com/derWinterbach/status/1046478115734720513?s=09

The part where the "she said no several times" comes from the confidential document of Ronaldo's lawyer. It was a questionnaire that lawyers normally prepare for their clients to answer so they would get all the statements/evidences and clear picture in order to prepare for their defense in the courtroom.

Due to the fact that the document in question is leaked, it is very likely that it wouldn't be admissible in the legal proceeding (therefore it would not be used as an evidence in the courtroom because of the nature of its origin), but at the same time because it is under lawyer-client confidential status, what Ronaldo said during the questionnaire could be true since he had to tell his lawyers the truth of what happened.

They always called mou boring, but I actually love Chelsea 1.0. They were like a siege unit, battering until the enemy crumbles. Full of power.

Same Duck, our 1-0 masterful ways were a joy to watch. Knowing if we scored 1 goal we would be like 80% favorite to win a match was great.

Playing like we are now is also great and entertaining, but so was the Mourinho first iteration.

Parking the bus isn't entertaining... ever.

I guess if you're a rabid fan of the team who is doing the parking, it can be entertaining, but as a neutral observer, it was eye-gougingly boring football.

Were you two also fans of Greece 2004?

This is all so weird, i am 80% convinced by this women's story that Ronaldo did in fact have consensual sex with her, but all this hush money and scared to say anything is where my 20% "doubt" if you can call that enters. Ronaldo had no power in 2009, he was just signing his summer deal to join Real Madrid for a World Record transfer fee, yes their is no doubt in that. He had not won a Ballon D'or he was not dubbed the worlds best, he had none of the power he now holds, with a vast amount of wealth behind him. This isn't like a Harvey Weinstein case neither as this is just a regular woman who had a normal job, she wouldn't be banned for Holywood like the women Weinstein abused/raped etc. Ronaldo was just a celebrity with money.

Nor was watching Pep's Barcelona pass ball around halfway line for 90 minutes and winning/lose 1-0 though for me. Tomato, Tomatoe.

Expanding on this, the different between Sarri style of possession and even post Messi Pep style is way different to what he gave us at Barcelona. He has defo evolved off that style of just keeping the ball and getting bailed out by Messi it seemed, because boy it was not fun to watch that. However his Man City side is way better at scoring it feels and the Bayern side he created was weird and interesting too.

Except that Pep's Barcelona didn't usually win 1-0, it generally won with large margins. And not just against small teams. There was the famous 2-6 in Bernabeu, for instance (as well as a 5-0 drubbing at home the next year). You just hate them because of the disgraceful refereeing in the 2009 CL semi-final, but other than that, Barça was on a tear that year in the CL as well, among others, crushing Bayern by 4-0

No, no no no. I hated the referee, it isn't Barcelona fault referee messed up is it.
The boring 80% possession games is when Pep didn't create what he had now. Like i said, during second or third season in charge of Bayern they were playing a lot faster paced and more fun to watch as they conceded more and had to score more. Man City as well, they were getting pummeled in his first season then in the second season managed to win the league, but still wasn't without having to come from behind or play faster and better than before.

I am not the only one who thought like this whilst watching the 80% possession Barca passing it around the back not shooting, i concede that probably only Chelsea fans liked what we were watching though.

Barca passing the ball around with 80% possession was caused by opponents parking the bus.

Which every team did, like every team does vs city or bayern etc. But the new Pep doesn't pass it around outside the box, they shoot, they make runs into box and play out of this world passes. Pep Barca did not do that, you can show huge differences between Bayern, Man City pep vs Barca pep. That isn't due to anything other than pep evolving as a manager and improving on his style.

All true, but that still doesn't make Barca 2009 boring. Their opponents were boring, the team that is parking the bus is boring. You may have loved Chelsea 1.0, but for anyone that wasn't a fan to watch their matches were horribly depressing shit shows.
There is a reason no one gets hyped for a "top" game anymore if Mourinho is involved and that is because it will just be bus parking and it always was that way for Chelsea too.

i thought tiki taka was more interesting to watch than bus parking. the things messi/xavi/iniesta + co pulled off were magical. sometimes it took a bit of time to produce those moments but you cant really blame them; the opponents were just as mesmerised as the fans were and had no choice but to just park the bus while they watch the ball
