They for sure punish guys who just score, I think Derozn and Melo should be higher then people who fill secondary rolls. But I don't think a ton higher. Overall pretty good and a good read. there is an SI top 100. and an ESPN top 100. which one are you talking about? Derozan was the Raptors "quasi-point guard" ( Casey term) during large stretches of the year. He has improved substantially as a playmaker the past 2 years. Lowry > Lillard by a lot.

https://fansided.com/2017/05/10/nylon-calculus-explaining-raptors-playoff-disasters/ a statistical way of verifying Derozan's poor defense is to examine what happens to every Raptor team mate and his defensive efficiency when they are on the floor with DD. Every Raptor's Defensive Efficiency gets worse in the presence of Derozan. http://www.82games.com/1617/1617TOR2.HTM i rank DD as ~ the 22th best starting SG in the NBA on defense. he is not the worst.. but he's close. i'd say SI has Derozan approximately where he belongs. He deserves some bonus value for being able to play PG now. He has definitely improved as an offensive player the last 2-3 years... especially as a playmaker... but its hard to see with boxscore stats.

Interesting question: Giannis or AD? Who would you prefer to build a team around?

I just am sleeping on him being a top 3 player, which is an odd thing to say you're "sleeping" on but it's commensurate with the hypes he's gotten from some people. I agree with you. I like to say that if you asked the every-man, there's 20 top 10 players in the league. It's not an insult to call a guy the 10th best player in the NBA.

Shocked that this was leaked this far out from CBA negotiations, but also, its more evidence of how bad Adam Silver is at his job. If Lebron didn't exist, he would already be fired.

If you are in the sorry eastern conference, you have to at least carry your team to the conference finals to be considered top 5. For all the criticism he takes, Lebron has made it to the finals 7 straight times. Some of these owners need to run their teams like an actual business. These guys don't have the right to make a profit just because they have a team. The guy who paid $2.5 billion for his big market team doesn't owe the guy who paid $500 million for his small market team an equal share of league profits. These guys are all supposed to be rich businessmen, even the poorest among them. But somehow, we hand the owners of the less profitable teams a soapbox to whine all the fucking time.

Currently the only option I see is buying for the previous season / summer season. Not for the 2017/18 season. In addition it does say "monthly" 29,99 instead of yearly for me :S information about the NBA League Pass for 2017-18 is now out there. https://www.reddit.com/r/torontoraptors/comments/71d265/league_pass_2017_2018_prices/ "*Excludes all Toronto Raptors and nationally televised games. Learn more about Blackouts (link to support site page)" which also explains why the prices are dirt cheap in Canada. https://watch.nba.com/packages?ls=leaguepass:nbacom:3pp:generic:main the least expensive route for non-Canadians is to use a VPN and appear to be in Canada and buy it that way. this trick method does carry some risk though. No clue what happens if the NBA League Pass people figure out you're not in Canada.

The CBA prevents teams from running them like businesses though, which is the problem. The draft and lottery don't help either.

Joel Embiid's landing mechanics are bad. he had zero opportunity to improve them this off season. Colangelo is very "cavalier" in his talk about how Embiid will get used. My take: Embiid will again hurt his knee and miss a substantial portion of the season. If Embiid plays the back-to-backs like Colangelo says he will and Embiid goes the first 40 games without an injury i'll be shocked. Embiid's Landing Mechanics ( by the same guy who identified Bryant's bad landing mechanics after his 3rd knee operation). Embiid's pigeon-toed, knees collapsing towards each other landing is an injury waiting to happen.
