I was under the impression that hightops caused high ankle sprains.
I'm not stupid, a marauder just shot my brain.

Was as many of us suspected is looking much worse without Wall (4-6 their last 10).

i don't think Washington looks much worse without Wall.

in the 4 games against Toronto a healthy Satoransky looked better than this season's gimpy knee-d Wall. They went 2-2 and played Toronto super tough.

With Wall : 21-16
23 games against non playoff teams.

Without Wall : 17-17
9 games against non playoff teams.

Wall from 2 years ago is probably better than Satoransky.

Actually, without Wall they are 19-15 playing only 8 non-playoff teams.

this is the 3rd procedure on Wall's knee in 18 months. This season, the injury occurred November 7th.
his team mates all stated he has been playing with pain all year.
On March 24 2018 03:53 JimmiC wrote:
Are you saying that Wall can never be healthy again because of his injuries and so at this stage of his career Satoransky is better then Wall is? Or that if Wall comes back to early Satoransky is better?

its hard to say... i saw zero information on what structure in his knee was being worked on. they said "debridement" which usually means cartilage... but not always.

here is what 1 expert says...
“I say this to everybody, you can come back and play within six to eight weeks but there’s no way you can be 100 percent in six to eight weeks because you’re not at 100 percent going into surgery,” Tyson said. “You can be back to the level you were going into surgery, maybe a little better but it’s going to be until the offseason when you can get some down time before you can truly be 100 percent.”

do you have any info on exactly what they were doing to Wall's knee? i have none.

I'm not a doctor, nor do I play one on the internet so I tend to just go with what I read from the team doctors

with no additional information its impossible for me to speculate on a prognosis for Wall.

Originally, the Wizards stated it was 6-8 weeks before Wall can be back. 6 weeks was March 7. 8 weeks was March 21.

their winning percentage is virtually identical with and without Wall. Their 34 game schedule without Wall is much tougher than their 37 game schedule with Wall. So if wins and losses are the metric being used then the Wizards have played better without Wall this year.

During their 4-6 stretch the Wizards played GSW with their all stars all in the line up and the Raptors during their 11 game winning streak. Also, during this 4-6 stretch they played ZERO non play off teams. So I don't think going 4-6 is an indication of them playing poorly. I think its more a sign of a brutally tough 10 game stretch of the schedule.

During the 4 games the Wizards have played the Raptors I've been impressed by Satoransky and I think he is an above average point guard. Until this year I knew nothing about the guy.

without more information i can't answer your question about John Wall's future health.
Will Wall be better than Satoransky next year ? i don't know. i don't have enough info to make a projection.

If Wall is 100% healthy I think the Wizards are better off with Wall. Especially because they would have 2 solid PGs instead of 1. They can have a good PG on the floor 48 minutes a game. During Wall's injury they've developed a nice PG in Satoransky. If Wall is playing in pain, as he has all year according to his team mates, I think its better for Wall to remain out.

I suspect the reason Wall is taking longer than the predicted 6-8 weeks is they want him 100% healthy. Which indicates Washington is thinking the same way i am. They want Wall healthy.

you say Satoransky is average. i think he is above average. ok.

Giannis not playing tonight due to an ankle sprain.
i wonder if he was wearing high cuts?

Wall's uncertain future health makes a projection impossible.

SI had him as the 13th best player in the league going into the year and ESPN as the 12th. So your ranking is shocking low. So you are not so much disagreeing with me but with probably just about everyone. And so be it, just good to nail down what you meant.

Wall has way, way more natural talent than Satoransky. However, I feel Satoransky synergizes much better with his team mates compared to Wall.

This is evident in the win//loss records (keeping in mind the strengths of the schedules) that the 2 players have posted up this year.

Satoransky is shooting 45% from 3 and 52% overall. He has a 4 to 1 assist to turnover ratio. He is an ok defender. Watching him play against Toronto he looks above average to me.

yep, Wall's lack of health this year has harmed his production.

as a featured scorer shoot-first point guard he has a giant tonne of talent and can do lots. as a PG who is supposed to make his 4 team mates better he is "ok".

Ffs if you want to know how good the Wizards are without Wall at the very least start with SRS or point differential. Jesus.

Lowry talked to the officials and the officials allowed the Raptors to adjust the rim they were shooting on
in the 2nd half... the Brooklyn commentators were pissed off LOLOL.

Pascal Siakam is now shooting over 20% from 3 ! ! !

Wiggins continues his hot play with a double double. Doing great as the second option to Towns. Twolves win, looks like they should finally break their missing the playoff streak.

as i stated in an earlier post right after Butler got hurt... Wiggins shooting % should rise with Butler out... and it has...
However, on this night he went 5 for 15 tonight and he didn't play very well against a crap team.

And everyone knew his usage would go up with butler down, his shooting % has been rising through out the year regressing to his mean. Thibs needs to figure out how to use both Butler and wigs together, and use a bench or they need to find a new coach.

his shooting % is all over the place with his 2 best months in November and February.
his shooting % is not "rising throughout the year".

"usage going up" was not my projection. that was obvious. my projection was an increase in his shooting % in Butler's absence. Butler isn't back yet so all the data is not in. So far its better.
