2 possibilities (a) they cut away the damaged meniscus via arthroscopy and he comes back in weeks but his NBA career is on a countdown timer and he'll be pretty fucked when he is 60+ years old. After Derrick Rose's 2nd meniscus tear Rose chose this option and was back in weeks. (b) they cut Butler wide open and repair the damaged meniscus by sewing it back together. The torn meniscus that is sewn together must heal which takes many months. Derrick Rose chose this option for his 1st ever meniscus tear and he was back in many months with a very long rehab process. In (a) arthroscopy is just a tiny hole in your skin so its almost like not having surgery at all. Very little trauma to your body. In (b) its full blown rip your body open and stab you brutally with a giant knife surgery causing your immune system and your entire body to go on high alert repair mode like u just got stabbed in a back alley by 3 thugs. | ||
