Trade deadline incoming. Any shockers?

Harden's MVP run continues. I hope he gets it this time around

I think D. Rose and K Love are both 29 and most other Cavs players are 30+, except TT, Jae Crowder, Cedi Osman. I'm not sure how old IT is.

I've always considered prime basketball age to be around 28-30. Another way to put it, I think prime basketball age is to be as experienced as possible before you drop off athletically. I think an athletic prime is probably age 23-25, but the drop off in athletics doesn't really show up until a player is in their 30s. I think it's not a coincidence that the #2-#4 oldest teams are the Spurs, Warriors, and Rockets. Just like Cavs were one of the best teams last couple years. You basically want to be as experienced as you can be without being "old." Future looks good for Celts/Raptors.

Add the Sixers.

Crazy how it seems only 2-3 years ago that pre-prime MVP DRose was trashing the league.

One more thing I forgot to mention about the Cavs struggles, besides father time catching up, their awful defense, and their lack of effort, is the fact that they've gone ice cold from deep. The Cavs were 2nd in the league in made 3's and they were converting them at 38.1% before they went on their slump. They also had 26 games in a row with 10 made 3's. In January they shot 31% from 3, and in February they are shooting 29% from 3, not counting tonight. They also haven't had 10 made 3's in 7 of the last 15 games. So they went from 26 straight games of 10 made 3s to not being able to make 10 3s in half their games. LeBron started the season scorching hot and went ice cold, JR Smith was ice cold, Kevin love went coldish, IT hasn't been able to shoot the 3 at all since coming back. When TT came back from injury Frye stopped getting minutes and Frye was a guy that could hit the 3.

It looks like JR has gotten his shot back the last few games, if IT can get his shot back and we go back to hitting 3s like no tomorrow... combined with some more defensive effort... maybe not all hope is lost. But that's being optimistic.

MIN-CLE game was thrilling. Epic clutch duel between LeBron and Butler. LeBron closed out the game with a block on Butler's attempted game winning shot with 3sec left in OT, then caught a 50 ft inbound pass with 1.0 sec left and hit a fadeaway jumper at the buzzer to win it. Game also had a new NBA record for combined 3 pointers with 40.

did any one get held out of the games tonight? i didn't hear about any one. pretty tame trade deadline action. Evans got held out but that has been going on since January 31 or so.

Game 6 3Q when the game was once again close in the 60s and 70s, it was Kyrie who hustled, again, two crucial rebounds and aggressive drives got them on the line constantly and broke the Warriors' run and gave them the cushion lead that they will hold until the end.

I don't know why I bother responding... I guess just to set the record straight in case anybody else is reading these posts and assumes some false opinion about this finals series from reading this nonsense.

So here are the facts about Game 6, where supposedly Kyrie had the huge plays that kept the game out of reach for the Warriors.

First of all, the 3rd quarter was never even close. The cavs started the quarter with a 16 point lead. With 7:00 left in the quarter it was a 21 point lead. With 3:00 left it was still a 19-point lead. With 1:30 left in the quarter it was still a 17 point lead. Then Klay caught fire and scored 8 straight points to bring the lead for the Cavs to 9 to start the 4th quarter. In the 4th quarter, LeBron scored 17 points. Kyrie scored 1 point, from a technical free throw.

Game 6 scoring -

3rd quarter -

Kyrie: 2 points
LeBron: 10 points

4th quarter -

Kyrie: 1 point (from a technical free throw)
LeBron: 17 points

For the entire 2nd half

Kyrie: 3 points
LeBron: 27 points

Oh but I'm sure he had some super clutch rebound that really deflated the Warriors spirit! What? The only time the game got close in the entire 2nd half was going into the 4th quarter. And in the 4th Kyrie was 0-2, had 0 rebounds, 1 assist, 0 steals, 0 blocks, 1 turnover, and 1 point from a technical FT. LeBron is the one that put the game out of reach. From the start of the quarter until the time the Cavs cleared their bench for garbage time the Cavs had 30 points. LBJ scored or assisted on 27 of those 30 points.

Anything more?

Yes, Skip. Please tell us more about Kyrie's amazing 3 pointer while glossing over one of the most clutch defensive plays in history. Also if you can mention Ray Allen saving LeBron's legacy you get bonus points.

Yes they're shit JJ, and that's the truth sorry. Ask yourself, has anyone even bothered responding to your Masai posts or some random stats or tabloid stories? Out of your 10k posts, 9k are shits no one cares about and even reads, and 1k are inflammatory provocative posts that you hope will grabs people attention towards you. Actually don't ask yourself, since you have this tendency to blatantly lie, I'm afraid you'll just lie and bullshit to yourself and to others like you always do.

But you do you JJ. As long as you stick to truthful NBA talk, discussions seem to be ok. Otherwise, it's a particular spectacle in this thread to see you try so hard to act all serious and knowing with your stats and scout uncle and your predictions (lifted from somewhere else on the internet WHICH EVERYONE ALREADY SAW!!!) only to be so consistently unintentionally comical. I'm just saying this out loud in case something is bothering you that makes you unaware of this.

Don't reply to me. If you reply, it means you are confirming what we're thinking. Let's talk about NBA instead.

Ooops, remember you're the one who runs away from the facts and replies with idiotic one-liners.
BlackJack is respectable because he fights facts with facts. I even concede when he proves me wrong.

You on the other hand lolers. You're act is made, no need anymore to pretend like you know shit lol.

Anyone and noone is a flamer in this thread.

Seriously though, if only we could stick to facts and argue calmly instead of name calling, and general rudeness. I'll admit in a heartbeat being wrong about facts, but when others open by being douchey about the discussion, that's another thing.

Anyway, some cool stuff from r/nba, while we await the trade deadline.

The old teams generally have old veterans chasing rings. The average age is less important than the age of a team's stars since it's much easier to replace aging bench players with younger bench players. The Cavs have been really terrible at that. The Spurs have been the model franchise for it. The Warriors give out cash considerations.

edit: Looks like Thomas is in a contract year. Lakers can't pay all their young guys and they are trying to clear cap space for a run in free agency. They get a low pick out of this.
