women's beach volleyball is my sport

i'd like to see a new biathlon created out of these new "X-Games" style sports. fuck skiing and skeet shooting.. i got a summer biathlon...

Women's beach volleyball then when the game ends flood the beach with 87 bazillion litres of water and the event ends with women's mud wrestling.

I've seen people play this in the Philippines before but had no idea how it was scored. Thought it was a single player game at first.

So I did my research here in the US yesterday and ended up switching my Sling TV subscription from the orange package to the blue package. It's an extra $5 but I get many of the Olympics channels now and I get to watch Fox as well when NFL seasons starts. My antenna sucks at getting that channel. I can cancel and modify my subscription easily so that's a plus. I don't really need espn until they start showing NBA games again.

CNBC and MSNBC are both going to be temporarily added to Sling blue during the Olympics.

Unfortunately, Sling doesn't let you have access to all the live streams on NBC's website. The cheapest I've found is a Playstation Vue subscription. Between a 1 week Playstation Vue free trial and a 1 week Sling TV trial, that should cover most of the Olympics.

I tried looking at which sports are going to be on which channel on which day and couldn't find anything. It's a huge pain in the ass for anybody who wants to watch a specific sport on tv. Easiest way is streaming it seems.

I was in rio for a couple weeks earlier in the summer and I have to say it is an amazing city. There's some common sense issues about safety that might not be obvious to people from better off countries though. I stayed in leblon, one of the upscale aflluent areas and was a couple blocks from 2 major shopping malls (very safe). When I was in the taxi and walking around Copacabana district, there was a major difference in areas. Poverty was all around me, and even though it was the middle of the day I felt somewhat more anxious walking around the streets. A big sign of whether the area is safe or not is if you notice women or old people or children walking around, you are in a safe area.

As for the olympics, The city for sure doesn't have proper infrastructure to accommodate the influx of tourists, so it actually works in Rio's favor that the ticket sales aren't as high as other places. Also with the water concerns, it was somewhat alarming to see several draining pipes empty straight into the ocean, but that concern was somewhat lax due to the fact that there were many many surfers and other people playing in the water and no real concerns about the quality of the water from the Cariocas

Just because the locals stopped caring doesn't mean that swimming in raw sewage is not a bad thing.
It ignores such insignificant forces as time, entropy, and death

Also, when you are used to adverse conditions like sewage water or even somewhat tainted drinking water, it won't affect you so strongly as a foreigner who is used to the kind of water they get back home. I know plenty of people who became really sick by drinking water that the locals didn't even have the slightest adverse effect from also drinking.
