But ye nobody would be like omg Woodley vs RDA. He still is a failed lightweight.
I dont get why GSP is so popular. I think its a Canada thing. He is not THAT popular elsewhere. His fights were the most boring lay and pray snoozefests.

And the boring ones were clear wins. Woodleys boring fights you are not sure who won after gsp.boring you know gsp won and every round they are just not exciting because gsp.controlled the guy so easy (see hardy)

subjectively, i found only 3 of Woodley's last 11 fights to be extremely boring though.

If I was his manager I would tell him cut the BS, fight the next two guys whoever the UFC wants, destroy them, then try to call your shot. You don't do it after you just slip by wonderboy twice in snoozer decisions and then have another snooze fest with Maia. And also, get the surgery if you need it and if you don't stfu about it. Right now it's clearly being used for leverage to try to pick a fight and take away legitimacy of the injury.

if he were a baseball pitcher or an NFL QB he'd be in a pretty bad spot. but, because he is just a standard athlete he can recover from his shoulder injury... but he has to take it seriously ... and he has to fix it. imo, if he tries to "play through the pain" the way Andrew Luck did he is jeopardizing his career.

The main event is a fight in a weight class that has one fighter in it... Holly Holm, the girl who just dropped three fights to fighters who haven't been doing all that well, and one win over the current #12 contender gets her this fight. Whoever wins, it doesn't matter, because there's nobody else in the division, if Holm wins then she probably rematches Cyborg, but they will still be the only two in the division. If she loses, she will just drop back down, and still somehow magically be ranked top 3 even though she'd be 1-4 in her last 5 fights. Khabib vs Barboza is an exciting fight, but again, what it'll result in, I dunno. If Tony fights Conor, I don't really see Khabib getting a shot at the belt against the winner after he didn't fight for almost 14 months, and having only a 3rd fight in the last 3.5+ years (and waiting for that would be forever, and if Mcgregor loses, maybe there'll be a rematch, and if he wins, then who knows when he'd go and defend, versus fighting GSP/Nate/Woodley). So probably winner of this fight ends up fighting against Eddie Alvarez, and Poirier fights Gaethje/loser of Khabib-Barboza. Then 6 vs 9 in women's strawweight, one with only 6 professional mma fights, welp... And Carlos Condit, the guy who is 2-5 in his last 7 fights (but his comeback is cool I guess), versus Neil Magny... Who idk, he tends to come up short when it counts (even though his record is quite good). And then an unranked light weight bout (though I'm a fan of Diakiese), so we'll see how that goes. Either way, all things considered, I thought that UFC on Fox 26 was a more exciting card on paper than the year end PPV, which is too bad. If only a Woodley-Diaz or Mcgregor fight materialized, ah well.

Cyborg didn't look that great against Evinger (sp?). could this be the beginning of her decline? any how, i'm taking Cyborg. Holm's best chance is a bad weight cut for Cyborg. Notice Rogan now says "oh my goodness" rather than "oh my god". WME-IMG doesn't want him saying "god"? LOL. "oh my goodness" sounds so weak and so fake ... that is why i noticed it.

I think the decline might be coming, but I still think she has what it takes to win on the 30th. When was Rogan saying oh my goodness, that sounds silly coming out of a guy like Rogan. I'm pretty far from being religious and I say it time to time. I feel like the last time Ive heard oh my goodness used was shy girls in school when I was 13 lol. I feel like it shouldn't bother people too much, because there's no reference to which god, and better yet... In the words of my old gas dynamics prof, if something is the way it is, it's because nature commanded it that way, so that can be your "god" for the non religious. Anyway, I'm just waiting for the McGregor vs Tony announcement, I feel like it should be coming up soon if they're going to be sticking to their March schedule.

I think they are waiting to see how the fight goes this Sat. If the eagle looks amazing I could see Mcgreggor wanting him to fight Tony to either fight Nurmagomedov who is a bigger draw. Or Tony who would be a bigger draw after beating Nurmagomedov. If Rogan was asked to use it less it wouldn't be for fear of insulting the non religious. It would be for not offending the religious and "using the lords name in vain"

I got Cyborg all the way. Pressure, clinching, she might even take Holly down. Isnt Holly like 1-4 in her last fights and she is fighting the most dominating female fighter ever.

Holm has a chance because of her great boxing straight punches and kicks. She could play matador with cyborg. If i was getting even odds i would take cyborg because she has ran through most and is so strong for a woman. But at these odds id take holm. Her record looks worse then it is she was dominating tate until her brain shut off and she gave her arm up. And her other losses were close decisions.

looks like the fight card remains in tact. i was going to go watch Star Wars. but, with Helwani providing incredible narration i figured the weigh-ins would probably be more exciting. this is gripping drama folks...so i stayed home.
