Jon Jones is the greatest lhw ever (though his legacy may be tainted depending on his test results). DC is a great fighter. Former Strikeforce HW champion and the clear #2 guy in 2 divisions. He's only ever lost to Jones. He's also much better than people give him credit for imo. He should definitely be ranked higher on the p4p list. He has wins over top 10 ranked fighters in 3 divisions. They legitimately hate each other to the point where they brawled at a press conference before their last fight.

Jon Jones is generally considered to be the best pound for pound fighter at the moment (I think saying all time wouldn't be that far of a stretch) and someone who has never lost an old fashioned fight, only DQ once for using illegal moves on someone who was getting destroyed.
Now people want to see him back, after he went through all that shit getting stripped of the belt and whatnot, but from the looks of it, he's just back to it.
DC has never lost an MMA fight outside of his bout with Jones, and he's a pretty likeable guy, doing commentary and whatnot. Out of any title fight you can have, Jon Jones vs Cormier probably brings the most hype for the raw fighting ability, and time tested legends.
Other people are popular for other reasons (like McGregor), but generally, the heavier divisions are where people like to see fights, and I don't have numbers for historic popularity, but I'd imagine that light heavyweight is the most popular division for championship bouts that don't have big personality figures.

Fuck you Dean.
True. He should have waited until RDA was dead.
No, but come on. When Herb Dean stopped the fight RdA smoothly walked away. He had a chance to recover.
Yeah, with the exception of Demetrius Johnson, nobody with more than 2 defences. Hard to have epic fights when you don't have champions who've stood the test of time.

He was clearly not defending himself. This was TJ vs Barao 2 all over again.

Not convinced at all. Just such a bad stoppage that just destroys the spirit of fighting. That was like two punches to the face that weren't defended, big woop.
Oh well, new champ... Following these divisions is hectic.

a women's title fight is the main event for the UFC's flagship event... whoda thunk it?
No wonder they're trying to sell the UFC S:
I wonder how many people already bought the PPV thinking Jones would be there (can you get a refund anyway?)
And I agree, that's like the worst UFC main event since UFC 191 lol. Smart of them to realize that Hunt vs Lesnar really isn't hyping people up. Like I said though, they have no headliner, just 5-6 really good fights.
