Yes it was very harsh to sack him just 2 days after the FA cup win, which ultimately overshadowed the celebrations. But I think it would have been worse to sack him before as it would affect team morale before the finals. On the other hand if you wait too long afterwards it would give him the impression that he's keeping his job. So not really sure how it could have been handled better. No issues with him being sacked after winning FA cup after it signalled the end of the season, but they should have summoned him for a meeting on the Monday then sacked him face to face, not leak it through the media a meeting had been set up with Jorge Mendes and all that. Man Utd also should have stated they would be addressing the managerial situation after the season ends in December when it got really bad.

![]() Also it is unclear what he discussed with Ancelotti. media first said, that Ancelotti does not want him. The only real quote by Ancelotti is: "Whoever is at training, will get a chance". And Götze said, he had a call with Ancelotti and that this was very helpful and productive, and that he beleives he has a shot under Ancelotti. But Rummenigges also quite clearly wondered, what Götze is doing ad why he suddenly wants to stay. Most reasonable speculation I have read is, that Ancelotti is indeed fine with Götze if he stays, and won't cry after him if he leaves, but that the club managment has some deals prepared for someone to replace Götze (who then would actually play) And if they have a better/bigger replacement for him, they surely would love to get 25-30m for Götze, and get rid of his 12m salary. But I also wonder, who would offer Götze an even comparable salary. Kid is living of his past fame and one WC goal...

Rumor has it that his agent had already agreed a deal wirh Liverpool, with even higher salary than Bayern offered.

Mourinho doesn't play attractive football, but it isn't exactly defensive except against top clubs. It is generally a counter attacking approach or brute force. As a Chelsea fan, I don't really like mou. But I attribute his second stint failure more towards the Chelsea players not fitting his style. Despite the FA cup and the manner of sacking, I think lvg deserves it. He did himself no service with his style and philosophy of football despite not achieving consistent results with it and having fans go against him for a substantial period. He had more than enough time to improve, and allowing him to finish the season should IMO be seen as something that he fortunately received rather than deserved. Well good thing for Chelsea now is that finally against man u, we will no longer be conceding the midfield because mou will gladly structure them that way against us ![]()

It's actually quite amazing how much of a brand Moruniho has become. I've never seen any billboard's with Tony Pulis or Sam Allardyce on them. On an entirely different matter I'm not sure I like Ibrahimovic to United. It smells more about money than football. He could maybe have one-two good seasons and if he plays well and fits in the team he could maybe fire United to the top 4 next year. But I feel he's going to cause more trouble than he's worth and as has been pointed out he's gettig a bit past it. One maybe two years is really all they will get out of him. I guess been fired to the top 4 for one season alone might be worth it. United have lacked entertainment and punch and that's what he'll bring so maybe. I don't know

They've known they wanted to fire van gaal since the winter but kept him on anyway. It's not gift it's a dick move and nobody deserves to be treated like that.

But he fits perfectly the Barcelona style so good for him to have his contract renewed,

All footballers do silly things he does ALOT of them lol, but he is of course technically gifted and been a key to Barcelona success the last decade. So when was the last time you saw Busquents dive like a Pansy then ? I would imagine that you would have ALOT of evidence to suggest that he is unusual in his pursuit of silliness. And please dont appeal to his behviour X many years ago that seems to be stuck in peoples brains. There is obviously no excuse for that but also no redemption either. Footy fans are worse than the US justice system, once you fucked up you are guilty forever. No one calls Drogba a diving pansy for example and he did the same shit. Busquets has pretty much fallen in line with the standard in the past few years. Nothing abnormal to report from what I have seen. I find this opinion typical of people who watch classicos the occasional Barca Atleti game and the token CL knockout legs.
