Your post makes no sense whatsoever. It's an annual vote that is supposed to reward the best player of THAT year, not the 10 years before that. You basically unknowingly make an argument FOR it being a popularity contest by saying this. They are the best players of our generation aka the most popular, that's why they should win every year regardless of their performance.

Does it sounds reasonable when people cheering for the best players and they automatically becomes the most popular? It is pretty natural process in every aspect of human society

You misunderstood me. Of course it's natural that the best players usually are the most popular. I also agree that Messi and Cristiano are the best two players of their generation. What I am saying is that since they are on average better than the rest and ergo more popular, people are overrating their annual performance whil undervalueing other players' performances.

Piqué retweeted a vid from tv in which you can hear espanyol fans chanting "die Milan" (his son) and "Shakira is a whore".
Also Suárez gets two games off from Copa because of his comments/attitude during the game. Two guys from Espanyol get one game off, surely they care a lot about it because it's the game after they got rekt 4-1.

Okay, fair point, but since they both untouchable phenomenas in football they gonna be always #1 and #2 pretending the best nominees.

UEFA Team of the year and not a single premier league player

Yaya calling it a pathetic incident that Aubameyang won Player of the Year. He won the Africa Cup of Nations and what happens on the continent should be worth way more than anything anywhere else.
Thank god he never won the award while failing to win that title with his team. I mean historically Gabon is a football world power compared to the ivory coast that never produced a single great player before Yaya.
I totally accept that he could've won and disappointment is alright but dismissing Aubas impact and his incredible 2015 stats is really poor for somebody who won the award countless times.

Diop - You're mother is a whore = red card + 1 game ban Suarez - You're a waste of space = 2 game ban

Too many Barca players imo. Sure they won the treble, but do Pique and Dani Alves need to be there? And did James have such a big impact? I think Boateng deserves to be in there, he is such an awesome defender + playmaker combined. Deserves it probably more than Neuer. He is a great GK but he isn't really challanged alot. But which GK to pick instead? Happy for Alaba, he is such a beast and still so young. Incredible guy for sure

Yeah only Messi and Neymar deserve to be in there from Barca. I agree wtf James do. It clearly a popularity contest anyway cuz of who gets in it.

That isn't exactly uncommon in derbies. Remember the Atletico fans' chants about Ronaldo and Casillas/Arbeloa a couple years ago?

Fucking Yes Exeter CIty!
I wish I hadn't quit my job and been threatened to have the police called on me just for filming myself reading my resignation to my boss who refused to sign it. Or I might have had the energy to get up at 05:00 KST to watch the game. I'm sure I would have woken everyone in the building up after the goals so perhaps it's a good thing I didn't watch.
Thanks for the GIF

Alaba Ramos Pogba Messi Neymar Ronaldo pretty much all i agree with My team of the year would have almost only Barça players xD I might be biased... Bravo - Marcelo Ramos Piqué Alves - Busquets Iniesta Pirlo - Messi Suarez Neymar
Bravo won everything, but I'm not sure about putting him there since he didn't participate to the CL. I think Piqué is really underestimated; I don't understand all the hate. When he's on top of his form, he's amazing. For Alves, if you don't put him who do you put? It's not like there has been a better right back this year. And he's been pretty good (not 2009-2011 Alves but still). Did Alaba actually play left back? I'd put Marcelo there, he progressed a lot these last 2 years.
Pogba wasn't as important as Pirlo for that CL run, and he hasn't been crazy good the first half of this new season; he's just a popularity pick like James. Busquets is far superior (at least for now). Messi + Suarez are a sure pick for me. Neymar sure looked good when Messi was injured, but enough to be superior to CR? I think so, for 2015, but not by much.

Alaba Ramos Pogba Messi Neymar Ronaldo pretty much all i agree with Really? Cmon! Alves if by far the best offensive right back, easily. Watching him playing is quite a pleasure, even aganist the best teams in UCL. Exactly the same goes for Iniesta. I quite agree with James being out of place.

I think Alves should not be in that list. He was terrible the first 4 months of the years, most people thought he was going to leave barcelona and he defended poor and crossed the ball worst. He played well two months around CL semifinal and final. Then he renewed the contract and he is decent now, but he still makes many mistakes.
I have doubts about Iniesta too, he has been awesome this season since September. But before summer he was very irregular and only played a few great matches.
I have the impression that the people who vote this list only watch Barcelona in the few CL matches but not in the regular competition "la liga".For example, I would prefer Busquets in that list before Iniesta or Alves, that list does not even has defensive midfield, lol.
Finally, Ramos is the biggest joke of all. This has been his worst year in Real Madrid and his state of form is so bad that most Madrid fans are saying that he should be in the bench and that Varane and Pepe should play right now.

So what do you say to the Barcelona fans who claim to watch all Barca matches like Twisted, Salteador Neo and WillyWanker and also include Alves and Iniesta? ^^
